Everyone is doing SO well! HUGS to all of you! :grouphug:

Hmmm. A locket or a watch with the Fantasia broom to commemorate a great start! The Donald medal for a great ending. I just KNOW that we are all going to get that medal.

I'm doing okay in the walking end. BUT I have reverted to the munchies at bedtime. HELP!!! Lily, I'll try tonight:
I must RESIST! I must RESIST! I must RESIST!

I made the September exercise challenge with 95 minutes to spare. I'm going to try and increase for October those 95 + another few.

It's cold and rainy here today, so it may be a good chance to see what January in Disney is like. We'll let you know if we can get that long walk in!

Have a good weekend, everyone!

You all put such a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes this morning- I REALLY appreciate all your support! :grouphug: I have such good friends!

Has anyone taken notice to the fact that we are in the DOUBLE DIGITS on our countdown to the half marathon?

98 DAYS!!!!

Rainy and cold here. I just can't seem to get myself out there in it. :o

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Go Karen Go #129!

Monday starts the 14week half marathon training schedule for me!!!! Week two will be done at WDW, so while I'll have lots of extra time on my feet, I plan on doing some serious heart rate elevating movement on training days....and hotel pool for cross-training days.

Speaking of pools......I walked to my sister's house this morning (2 miles) then jumped into her pool :hyper: :hyper: 74 degrees, brisk to say the least! Swam laps, but not for very long!

Morning walks start for me now that the weather is cooling off. It was soooooo easy to talk myself out of the gym at the end of the workday, but as a morning person, I'm looking forward to getting up and getting out.

I'm off to get my pedicure for my WDW trip (notice countdown timer).....think I'll choose 'creole shrimp' by OPI as my color again.

Have a great weekend everyone, and can't wait to hear about #129 and how she does! ::yes::

Today was a good day I got my run in early. It was only 33 degrees when I started. By the time I was done it was 42. I didn't even notice after the first few blocks. It is suppose to get warmer all week.

I started my own Sept Challenge at my school. We only did 500 minutes so that I could get everyone going. 33 people signed up and 21 of them made the 500min. goal or more. We moved for 16,400 minutes total !! I was so proud of them !! I got fancy colored safety pins and put a gold bead on it. We wear lanyards with IDs on them and I figured we can put the pin on it. Each month I will up it a bit (550 for OCT.) and give a different colored bead for reaching their goal. I had more people say how much they liked this system. I also made a large acorn and wrote"I am a fitness nut in Sept.!!" on it for each to post on their doors. It is amazing what you can get people to do for a pin, plastic bead and a piece of paper(HA-HA)!!

KAREBEAR!! how did you do ? Wasn't it great(once you caught your breath)?

LittleMissMickey : Are you running in the Mpls. marathon tomorrow(5K or 10K)? I just saw on the news there will be 10,000 runners. The race I was in last weekend had 700 racers and that seemed like alot.

My older daughter won her game and the younger one lost. Both played very well. 3 games left in the season the tournaments.

Hope your Sun. is productive or restful!!:wave2: :wave2:

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!!

Yesterday morning we had our clothing sale at the school and boy was it a lot of work. It took us two hours to clean up which included packing boxes, moving boxes, carrying tables etc. Thankfully Debbie showed up to help because there was only five of us working the sale. It poured rained and was quite cold during the sale which made for a very small amount of customers.

However, just after noon the sun came out and it was beautiful. So in our infinite wisdom Debbie and I headed out for our walk (after me working on this sale for the past three days). We did manage to do 7 miles in 2 hours and 15 minutes but the last mile I thought we were going to have to call my DH to come and get us.

I hurt everywhere!!

The wind was so strong. She asked me before the run if there were any hills along the way and I said a few rolling hills and then a little one as we come back into town. Well we rounded the curve and she starts whacking me with her water bottle.::yes::

I guess the hill was bigger than I thought. I told her "we're at the Contemporary!! See the monorails overhead....and the sweeper truck at our rear."

Anyways, I'm glad we did what we did. We were aiming for 8 miles but we figure we probably walked a mile carrying boxes from the gym to the portables.:hyper:

Everyone is doing so great here and that is what helps me out the door.

Only 14 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a super Sunday Everyone. It's my rest day and 14 of my husbands relatives are coming for supper.

Well, it must be the end of the week, and here I am, the last post....or is that 'Taps'?

We did the walk, and I learned that I need to look carefully at what I eat before/after my long walks. I'm reading a Runners' World book on running, even though I walk. I figure the principles are the same.

One thing for certain: Do NOT walk/run with no foodand do NOT walk/run after doing a sale. You end up with sore cheeks that need a massage!

Remember: Slow and steady wins the race....and the Donald medal.

We know we can! Now we just need to DO it!
