Marathon Training Thread for 12/5-12/12

Saturday's long run- 18 miles finished!!!!!

Lisa - I don't know if you have another run long enough to test it, but I tried a Snicker's Marathon bar during this run and it worked great. It didn't leave me with the lead weight feeling that the Cliff Bars do.

Congrats on your 18 miles. I didn't have lead weight problems--I had back pain issues that caused my overall problems with my run. Visited the chiropractor today for an adjustment. He said that since it "dissipated" in less than 24 hours--that it was probably a muscle spasm of sorts which then caused the need for the adjustment. I'm icing and massage and will be carrying Biofreeze with me on the run.

I did an hour of crosstraining on Sunday (WATPing).
Lisa - WOW! I am SO impressed with you!! 20 miles and you finished despite the pain! You GO girl! I hope you find a way to ease your back pain for the marathon. Is that your longest run, or will you have 1 more? 10 is my longest and I keel feeling like I should do a 12 mile - just to be sure! I will stick with my plan though.
TriMom - Amazing!! You are doing it!! The distance you ladies are putting in simply amazes me. I just don't think I would be capable of the full. What kind of socks are you using? Those must be good!

Everyone continues to inspire to work harder and Go For The Donald!! Thanks!!
