Hello!
I was curious about when the race packets would be released, so I emailed Disney and got this response:

The first mass mailing of race packets (race program and Race Number Pickup Card/Waiver) will take place at the end of October or early in November. Since they are sent bulk rate, they will not be forwarded. The second mailing of the race programs and the Race Number Pickup Card/Waivers will take place around Thanksgiving. Many of those registered through charity groups or tour/travel groups will be included in that mailing. If you don't receive the packet, you will need to pick up your Race Number Pickup Card/Waiver at the Expo on either Thursday, January 10th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 11th from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM or Saturday, January 12th (marathon only) from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. The Expo will be at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at the Milk House. Parking for the expo is free. Follow the signs to the Wide World of Sports. When you enter the number pickup area, please proceed directly to Runner Relations and we will take care of you there. After getting your Race Number Pickup Card/Waiver at Runner Relations, you will proceed across the room and pick up your race number, ChampionChip, t-shirt, goodie bag, etc.

For information on the weekend, go to www.disneyworldmarathon.com. There will be an online version of the race program on that website later this month as well as other pertinent information.

Continued good luck to everyone in training!!:goodvibes

Does everyone receive a race packet in the mail or is it a random thing? If you get a packet do you still have to go to the expo?

Thanks.

The "race packet" is just the race program and waiver. This waiver has to be brought to the expo(with id) and than you get your #, chip, shirt, and other goodies.

It just gets you even more excited about the race.

I have a question regarding packet pick-up at the Expo.

Some of my scream-teamers are going to be doing the 5K (and I'll be screaming for them :) ). Can that packet be picked up on race (Fri.) morning? Or must it be picked up on Thursday at the Expo?

If Thursday, are we permitted to pick up for someone (with proper ID)? One of the 5K-ers is flying in Thursday. Her flight lands at 5:30, which SHOULD leave enough time to get to the Expo, but just in case, I was wondering if I could pick it up for her?

I believe as long as you have a copy of their photo ID, you can pick up their packet for them.

My sister volunteered one year, but they had the same pickup process--and so she gave me a photocopy of her driver's license and I was able to pick it up.

Ooooh.... Bulk rate so they will not be forwarded.... guess I need to change my address with the marathon people ASAP!!

Has anyone received their race packets yet?

ETA: Nevermind, I just read in another thread they will be sent out 11/16!

Hi Lindy!!!

I think the date they were being mailed on/around is Nov 16th, listed on the Wide World of Sports in case you'd like to check. I'm being lazy with a headache or I'd pull up the site myself but I seem to recall looking at the site and then at my calendar and seeing they were due to ship this Friday.

Maybe we'll see some posts about them being received early next week? I can't recall the date of mailing last year and when they 1st started appearing but you can bet the moment they start to arrive the yells and cheers will start popping up in the form of posts LOL We're not an excitable bunch at all ;)

Happy training and be sure to give a hearty yell out as soon as yours arrive. I remember thinking last year (& year before) it was like tracking them on a map almost as much fun as tracking Santa's arrival LOL

Oh and I keep checking the WWoS site, as I'm sure my other restless ever eager to see the packeet team mates are to see if they will again load the program. Funny thing is they load it online and the moment I have it in hand I STILL pour over it like I've never seen it before. It's just TOO exciting!!!

Back to my vegged out state for the evening ;)

I know you can pick up someone else's race packet if you have a copy of their ID however my question is about the Goofy. I think you get a wristband. Does this mean you have to pick up your own packet? I emailed this question to Disney and no one has responded. I'm just wondering if someone has had this situation in the past. TIA:goodvibes
