Marathon Expo

Hi,

I am trying to plan our visit to WDW when we come to run the marathon in January. I wanted to know about how much time to allow for the Expo. We arrive on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. I think it starts the next day. Is it just a quick thing to go to just to pick up our race packet or should we plan to stay for a while? Thanks!

Depends.

There are lots of tables displaying just about everything running you could ever want. There are many opportunities to purchase memorabilia if you are interested.

If you are only there to pick up your race stuff, that goes rather quickly. Lines kept moving. You pick up packet and log in with your chip at an activation place then can leave to the expo or leave totally.

I used the event as part of my first time experience and stayed for some. I bought memorabilia, have the plaque and a couple things. It was amazing for me to see and know I was part of the reason for the expo.

Busses run fairly regularly so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Quick time from/back to your hotel maybe a couple hours. Leisure stroll depends on what you want to add.

I think you could allow an hour to pick up your packet and leave. You should probably allow another hour to stroll the expo if you choose to. I LOVED it. I picked up some great workout shirts by Champion for literally half price - I wouldn't have spent $30 for special workout shirts, but $15 sounded great to me. There were all kinds of stands and it was fun just to see what everyone had to offer. I also bought a long sleeve Tshirt with the half-marathon course on the back and "I DID IT" on the front.
