I read a news blurb about the rumored "Disney Night Kingdom" and where it might be constructed.

So just out of curiosity, I was looking at satellite maps of the area on http://maps.live.com

So it makes me wonder, how much of the land around WDW is owned by Disney? Does anyone actually know or is there some kind of map.

I have no reason to know this other than curiosity.

The tax man always knows. For the rest of us, there is Orange County's GIS map available at http://ocgis1.ocfl.net/imf/imf.jsp?site=orangecFL (zoom into the pink area in the lower left) though this will not show the areas outside of Orange County. WDW owns some land in north Osceola county.

Originally Disney owned about 28,000 acres in Florida.

Subtract for the land that became Celebration and was sold off for that development.. the land underneath the forthcoming Four Seasons Resort which will be sold and whatever.. last guess the number of acres owned by Disney is about 25,000.

Some large number of that is protected wetlands that can't be developed.. but even after you subtract that - they STILL have lots of room available on their currently owned land.
