Is there a map that has symbols for accessibility? I know some you can sit in the wheelchair, some not, some you wait in line, some have a separate entrance. Is there a map that has symbols for all of those things somewhere? I am a visual person and it would really help me plan some things out. I have looked but I may be missing something.

Thanks

Sue said that they have them in the parks now and other s have told me they are so much better to read than the old guide book. I have not been able to find a copy online yet, but maybe someone else knows.

The new ones are maps and you can get them at the map kiosks at the front of each park. They look very much like the 'regular' park maps, but just have extra information.
I have a set for each park and should try scanning them. I'll see if I can get around to it this weekend.

That would be incredible. I am somewhat of a planner. This would be great. Sue is there a swap type thing for wheelchairs. My DH had surgery on his foot and it isnt healing well so he has a hole in his foot. The dr says it will be 6-8 weeks to heal so I would really like to have him in a chair. He will never make it with all the walking.

Thanks for the help. You huys have great info.

There is not a swap type thing for wheelchairs.
If you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #2 has information about renting wheelchairs and ECVs. You may also be able to get one at home for less cost. You would be able to bring it along on the plane with no cost. There is also more information in the disABILITIES FAQs about air travel.

We have access to at least two here at home that we could take with us but we are driving and there are 6 of us. I dont think we will have room for it unfortunately. I will probably rent one.

VERY HAPPY to hear there is a map for us "disabled" folk. I would also like to see it and plan ahead. That's what's worrying me most about accepting a trip offer - the UNKNOWN and not knowing how to plan and be prepared. Also afraid of being a burden to my friend. Arming myself with info beforehand makes me feel more in control. Make sense?
