I haven't seen too much talk about Manta. All I know is that it's a 140-foot-tall flying coaster that will open in the summer of 2009. I also read that it will have 3,359 feet of track and a top speed of 60 mph. Does anyone else have any more info to share? Have they started construction?
 
Construction has started, in that they've cleared the area and set up a staging area in one of the parking lots. Not sure if any track is erected yet.

Highly themed queue, with all kinds of aquariums and artwork--my impression is it will do for mantas what Expedition Everest does for yetis. This article has a brief overview, links to some concept art:

Thanks for the links! Looks like it's going to be a great ride. For any UK'ers the concept really reminds of Air at Alton Towers in Staffordshire. I think Air is one of my all time favourites rides, but Manta with the water will be better for sure.
