I was curious which coaster you like better at SeaWorld: Manta or Kraken?

I pick Manta because:
~It's more unique IMO (There aren't very many flying coasters!)
~It's way smoother than Kraken
~You don't have to 'work' to get a fun ride (On Kraken, you have to brace your head so it won't get banged around)
~The queue line is more interesting
~That pretzel loop, lol (I think that's my fave roller coaster element now)
~It's just plain AWESOME!

But I still really like Kraken.;)

So, what do you think?

I am not a coaster girl. I don't enjoy being shaken, rattled, or rolled around :rotfl: .

But my guys love 'em, and they think Manta is their favourite coaster of all times. We've been to all 4 Disney parks, both Universal parks, SeaWorld and an assortment of other amusement and theme parks in the US and Canada, and Manta tops any other coaster they've ridden.

I will not be surprised if Manta stays in my #1 spot too. (Even though I've only been on 10 coasters total; and only been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, SeaWorld, & Hollywood Studios.) The only coaster that I could see beating Manta out is another flying coaster like Tatsu @ Six Flags Magic Mountain in California or something, but even then I doubt it.;) I just LOVE Manta!

Definitely Manta. It is so smooth and fast and fun. I also love the aquariums in the line up not that we had time to see them when we were there last week as we raced right up to the front both times we went on it.

Manta is definitely more unique but Kraken is my favorite coaster in Orlando. It just feels like riding on a Lay-Z-Boy at 60mph.I've also never been a big fan of the pretzel loop on Manta,I just don't enjoy the G-forces it puts on my chest.I notice I'm a big fan of big hyper and giga coasters like Millenium Force and Apollo's Chariot which is something Orlando lacks and Kraken is closer to those coasters.I like Manta but it's a coaster I don't do more than 2 times a day.A coaster like Apollo's Chariot I could ride a dozen times and want more.

I don't ride roller coasters. But my sixteen year old does all the time. Her favorite was king da ka at great adventure. Well until manta.

I rode Kingda Ka's shorter sister Top Thrill Dragster and although the launch and climb up the tower is an amazing rush it's over in like 6 seconds. It's a one trick pony, but it's a seriously good trick. Most coaster people like these coasters but when asked what they're favorite coaster is will usually respond with a more traditional coaster.Next to Top Thrill Dragster is Millenium Force which although is like 110 feet shorter the climb to the top and subsequent drop next to Sandusky Bay is like the most intense part of the ride. With the launch on Top thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka you just don't get that,it's fun but not the same.

Cool!:)

Funny analogy!! But it makes sense (as long as you don't get your head banged).:) That pretzel loop is one reason why I like Manta...it felt unique, I suppose.
Yep, I've been on Apollo's Chariot-fast smooth and airtime aplenty. Love that too!:) No Millennium Force yet for me though...it's too far away.-_-

If you don't like headbanging the one coaster to avoid is Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa, amazing coaster but just like Manta I'll only ride it maximum 2 times a day.I remember my brother and our friend riding Kraken about 15 times one day and 7 of those times was at the end of the day with nobody waiting in line so the attendant just let us stay on continuously.Hulk at Islands of Adventure is also pretty nasty as far as headbanging.

^Yeah, I don't like getting my head banged, but I'm 'ok' at avoiding it, so I'd still go on those.;) But thanks for the warning!:)

Manta is my favorite coaster in Florida but Tatsu @ MM is way more intense and probably the best coaster I've been on but Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force @ Cedar Pointe are real close.

Ok, you just made me want to ride Tatsu even more...;) I wish it wasn't so far away.:P Cedar Point is a ways away too. No Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster for me anytime soon...-_-
(And the rest of my family either 1)thinks coasters are boring (mom, although she likes Manta), 2)is a big ride chicken (sis), or 3)gets sick on rides (dad). They won't travel a long ways "just" for roller coasters.)
