Hi everyone. We recently got back from a stay in Grand Reserve in Davenport. Before we left, I read a thread where several people recommended Manny's Chop House in Haines City. We decided to try it out on our trip. I had checked out their web site and got directions before we went. They open at 4 pm during the week. We went on a Monday night because kids eat free. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and give your name. We didn't do this because we planned to be there right around 4 pm and we figured it wouldn't be busy. Boy what a mistake! We arrived at 4:15 and the parking lot was pretty packed. I immediately gave my name and the size of our party. They said the wait would be an hour. We thought that would be okay so we stayed. People just kept coming and coming that night. It was crazy. After an hour we checked and they said it could be 15-20 minutes longer. Well, we had already invested an hour so we stayed. We didn't get in until 2 hours after we got there. This place is very popular! Although we were not happy with the wait, we had a great meal. They have wonderful fresh, hot yeast rolls with a cinnamon butter. They also have an endless salad bowl with their house ranch dressing. It was really yummy. Our party of 10 went through 4 baskets of rolls, and 2 large salad bowls. Everyone except the kids got Manny's Sirloin Steak fro $11.59 for a 12 oz steak. Some of us got the garlic mashed potatoes, some got fries, my mom got a rice dish as her starch. The steaks were cooked perfectly. My mother in law likes her steak very rare, I like mine medium well and others like their steak cooked in between and everyone had a perfectly cooked steak. One of my boys got the kids chicken tender meal and two of my other children got the pizza. All three of their meals came with fries. They were all happy. The atmosphere in this place is very lively and loud. I am glad we stayed, but I would definitely call ahead in the future. The waitress asked us how many checks we wanted before she took the orders and she happily gave us three separate checks. She also deducted the kids meals without being asked. The service was fantastic. Despite having a large party, she didn't add the 18% gratuity that many servers add. We happily tipped her 20% because she was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. We talked to many locals while we waited. They said Wednesday nights are crazy because of the buy one get one free fajitas, but they also said they are awesome. They also said they have never had a bad meal. Here is a link to their web site.

Thanks a lot for this review. I've read raves about this place on another board. I definitely have it on my list for our upcoming trip, and I will definitely call ahead!

We live about 1/2 hr north on 27 and always call ahead! The only time we've been and got sat right away was on a Sunday afternoon about 4pm, after the church crowds but before the dinner crowds. We've never had a bad meal and love the salad and rolls with cinnamon butter!!

We love Manny's. We get there early but know we may have to wait. The food is always good and so is the service.
