Manning Family-Day 1 (11-21 Wed)
Cast: Me Karen - 38, Disney Vacation Planner
DH Mike - 37 - Enjoyer of all that Planner plans!
DS#1 Chris - age 10
DS #2 Bryan - age 8
DD Katheryn - age 6
- 7 prior trips to WDW, 2 offsite, 2 Poly, 2 Institute, 1 Boardwalk
We're all up regular time 6:00am. DM takes DS#1 to middle school, while DH takes remaining kids to their elementary school. We decide to start vacation off on a good foot and go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then we run errands, pick the kids up from school, and head home.
Kids are home from school and are like little wild animals - so excited! At 1:00 our limousine comes and we're off to Manchester NH Airport.
This is our first time flying out of Manchester. We usually fly out of Logan Airport in Boston - but now that we've been out of Manchester, goodbye Logan. Manchester is a small regional airport with the all the amenities of a large airport - without all the congestion. We arrive at 1:45, stood in line at Delta 7 minutes. Tickets received and bags were checked in 10 minutes (took a while because each of our 5 tickets were on a separate itinerary!) We walked to gate A-1 (took us 1 minute!), but there was no line at the security check, so we decided to eat at McDonalds first. After eating, we stood in line behind 3 people, the man looked at our tickets and ID's and OK'd us through the metal detectors. Everything had to go on the conveyor, even coats! But luckily, we made it through without incident or search! Next on to Gate A-1. Because we came so early we had over an hour wait, but it passed quickly. Soon they started boarding, but called out random names for baggage checks (again, luckily not us). The plane was scheduled to leave at 4:05 and was on the tarmac at 4:10. Takeoff was smooth. The flight was uneventful.
We arrived in Atlanta right on time. We had 1.5 hours to spend getting from one side of the terminal to the other, and eating "wonderful" expensive airport food. Our next flight from Atlanta to Orlando was pretty routine. We landed around 10:00.
After gathering our luggage, we proceeded to the Hyatt Orlando Airport directly in the terminal. We were all checked in and comfortable by 10:30.
Tomorrow we're off the MGM for Thanksgiving Dinner! Till then!
