Manitoba Marathon!!

Well DS (11 yrs old) did it!!!!
He ran his portion of the relay (9.9km) in 70 mins!! His whole team (5 runnrs) took 4hrs 41 mins to complete the 42km (26 miles). Kiwi had the longest section to run and did great-it was so exciting!!
He has run the small super runs in the past but this was his first big race.T
here was some much engery at the relay exchange zone-very exciting to see all the runners going by-they said there were about 11,500 people running total!
The day started out clouded over with a slight breeze-good running weather.
I took some pics and hope to upload them later at my dad's. Right now we are at home-DS is taking a well deserved rest!

Wow, that's great, grover! You must be so proud of your DS! And only 11 too!

I can't run worth a bean so I admire anyone who can! I ran a 10 km run years ago thinking I could walk whenever I could and just take it easy because I'm the slowest runner in the world! But then I found out that they put a time limit on the race (I think it was an hour and a half)! I ended last (and I mean dead last) out of around 1500 runners! But I didn't care, because I was just so proud that I actually finished the race!

Anyway congrats to your son on his great run! Sounds like it was an amazing experience!
