Can I request info from Disney re: DVC from home or do I have to be in Florida? Can I purchase from home? TIA

You can certainly request info from home but I have read on these boards that you have to be in Florida to actually purchase if you are a resident of Manitoba. Something about licensing agreements I think.

Fellow Winnipegger here! Unfortunately, Disney can't speak to you about DVC over the phone. We had to buy and add on in person while in Disney if you are buying direct from Disney. If you are looking at resale, you are okay. We have done it both ways. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to talk to you.

Disney won't talk to us poor Manitobans as they are not licensed as real estate brokers here. If you are not down in Florida where they will deal with you directly, you will have to work with a timeshare reseller (Like the Timeshare Store which sponsors the DIS DVC boards). We used the Timeshare Store, and found them to be pretty knowledgeable and willing to get us whatever info we wanted.
