Just wanted a concensus from anyone who has done either one or both of these. We were thinking of booking them for our cruise, but were wondering if they're worth the price.

Thanks.

IMO, no it's not worth the price. The mani/pedi I get at home is SO much better. I really felt they were nothing more than a polish change and massage. And I had chips and peeling the very next day.

I also do not feel they are worth it onboard....polish started peeling right away and it cost $50 with tip for a manicure.....way too much!!!

My DH and I each did the "Sole Delight Foot Ritual" (I think the name is slightly different now) which is basically a pedicure, and we LOVED it. If it wasn't for the fact that the nail polish "grew out" as my nails grew, it would've lasted for a very long time, a couple of months at least.

It cost $55 and lasted 55 minutes long. DH got the same exact treatment that I got, except no nail polish at the end ;) It included a foot massage, ankle massage, leg massage all the way up to the knee, they removed rough spots on our heels, trimmed and buffed our nails, etc. We will absolutely do this again next year when we cruise DCL :)

P.S. I didn't have the manicure, I get acrylics and fills at home and didn't need a touch up at all on the cruise.

I agree with not being worth it. They charge way too much for it! I can get a better, more relaxed mani/pedi at a home spa for more than half the price.

BTW, I heard that the polish doesn't last long because of the stuff in sunscreen. Don't know how true it is. My polish also chipped, smudged and peeled by the next day.

Does anyone has a list of all the spa treatments that are available on the ship? I may be able to find these on the DCL web page, but I must have overlooked them. I am getting so excited about our upcoming cruise and am trying to get all prepared for it. TIA for any info about the spa. ::MinnieMo

Hope it helps...
Doesn't it look good? Especially NOW!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I agree that we didnt find the quality to be worth the price.

Much better mani/pedicures at home, for less money and then I don't use up precious time on the cruise getting it done. Plus, your fingers and toes are already done and looking beautiful when you get on the ship.

My dds and I always do this a day or two before we go and it gets us really excited and ready for the trip.

I have had a pedicure on each cruise I have done, and manicure on a few. Most of the pedicures the polish has lasted FOREVER (the growing of my nails is the only reason the polish was coming off when it finally did.) On one of my cruises the polish began chipping off almost immediately. I went back to the salon and asked her to redo it and she did. That one lasted longer, but not as long as some of the others I have had.
My manicure polish did not last very long, but it does not at home either.

I love the pedicure and do recommend it. I would do it again.

Something like this is what I wanted on our last cruise but my choices were pedicure - no leg or foot massage, which I wanted after walking around St. Thomas - or reflexology for over $100. I opted for the ped and was a little dissapointed. My polish lasted a long time - but I didn't have sun screen on my feet either so maybe there is something to that. I just wanted a good foot and calf massage after all that walking. The staff was very nice, I just couldn't get the exact service I wanted.

I got one last time I cruised in September of 2004. It was much better at home and less than half the cost. Plus, as some others have pointed out...a lot of sunscreens will eat the nailpolish right off!! I have learned my lesson and now I get a mani and pedi before my vacation and get my nails buffed to a high shine instead of any polish. Hope this helps.

I had the mani/pedi in April and it was not that great. I expected th have a great leg/foot and hand massage but it didn't happen. The polish on the pedi lasted a long time but the mani polish (which was the same polish) came off within a day and was chipping and peeling. She tells you not to use sunscreen or put it on the kids which I didn't but it didn't matter. I would never pend that kind of money again on the cruise for that . I was a huge disappointment for me.
