I hate this caravan !! Im bored !! I wish I was at home !! ~ that was all we heard last Summer during our two week holiday to Bashley Park in Hampshire in our touring caravan. So this year we didnt book anything for the Summer holidays. Come the end of April, and we still didnt have anything booked, so hubby decided that he wanted two weeks away in the sun. So he asks us How do you fancy two weeks in Tenerife ?. We give a little smile, as we all know that when he suggests going to Tenerife, hell always say that for a bit extra we can go to Florida. So at the travel agents he asks for the prices to Florida and within half an hour we are all booked up for two weeks at the Pop Century ~ nice one !!
A few days later, I made my only ADR for Chef Mickeys for 8th August ~ we love it there, I also book a room at the Travelodge at Manchester Airport for £26 (bargain), book a minivan through USRentacar and arrange the Meet & Greet service for our car through the AA.
My previous years Annual Pass ran out at the end of May, so I ordered the Disney Dining Experience card just before it ran out, as I knew it would be worthwhile for use during this holiday and our New Year holiday.
We decided to buy some more Annual Passes for WDW, and we looked into buying 7 day tickets for Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, but as we would need them also for New Year, we decided to get Annual Passes for there too (which worked out a lot cheaper than buying 2 lots of 7 day passes). Just by chance I found a thread on the Universal Boards about a buy one year, get the second year free using a code from a Bealls receipt. At first I wondered how I was going to get the code, but within a day or two the code had been put on the Dis, so I ordered 4 Annual Passes, and within a week the tickets had arrived.
The 13 weeks flew by, within no time the Summer holidays arrived and then it was time to go.
So Thank You girls, cos if you hadnt complained, then we wouldnt be going.
Wednesday 2nd August ~ Night Before/Journey to Airport
Paul was at work all day, so me and the girls got the packing finished and got ourselves ready, and surprisingly the day flew by. Paul finished work at 4pm, and by 4.50pm we were all in the car ready for our trip up to Manchester. We arrived at Manchester Airport around 6.40pm and loaded the cases onto a trolley and headed to the MyTravel check-in desk. There were no other passengers taking advantage of the night-before check-in and within 20 minutes we were heading out of the terminal minus our cases, we just had to come back to check-in to have the security checks and pick up our boarding cards the next morning.
We then drove to the Travelodge about 5 minutes from the airport, checked in, dumped our overnight stuff and headed to the Trafford Centre for some tea. We had a McDonalds in the food court and then strolled around the shops. The girls bought some Pirates of the Caribbean tattoos and badges (Pirates will play a big part of this holiday) and as I was so excited about my holiday and feeling a big generous, I bought one of them a bag and the other some trainers.
We got back to the hotel around 9.30pm, got ready for bed and watched Big Brother till we finally drifted off into a rather restless sleep.
