If you had a choiceof flying in & out of these two airports, which would you choose & why? Flying in on Saturday afternoon & flying out the next afternoon ... Both airports ae 50-65 minutes from where I want to be. Thank you!
I've flown out of Manchester a few time, it's very convenient and small...my last trip and this trip in May we are flying out of Boston, it was much cheaper and we are flying Delta....
In general, they're about the same . Go with whatever is cheaper and/or more convenient for you.
I live in Boston. Logan's 15 minutes away, but I always look at Manchester, Providence AND Hartord, Ct. for cheaper fares.
Good Luck,
Joe
I've never been to Manchester but I live 5 minutes from TF Green Airport. It's located directly off I-95 in Warwick RI so easy to travel either north or south. I've flown recently (on Southwest) and getting through security was fast and easy.
You know..it's funny. I live almost exactly in between those two airports...an hour away from each. I have never flown out of Manchester, only TFGreen. For some reason, I always feel like I would be going in the wrong direction if I went north in order to fly south!! Now, how weird is that??!! I may just have to start driving to Manchester.
That being said...we usually use Logan.
In a way, you're right. I think flying from MHT is a longer flight than PVD - at least the flights from Logan are slightly longer than from PVD!! The faster I can get there, the better!!!
Thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate it. I am leaning towards Providence. Maybe part of my thinking is that flight is slightly shorter than the one to Manchester . We have flown in & out of both, but I prefer the drive up I95 than the drive along I93. As of now the price is the same for both, & the rental car is about the same, too. Thanks again!
goofy4tink - You're not thinking long-term... frequent flyer miles
Now, granted, distance doesn't matter on Southwest, but if you're flying any legacy airline and if both airports are equidistant and the fare's the same - Manchester for sure!
We are located right in between the two airports (maybe a little bit closer to PVD) I would go with the airport that is on the side of Boston you need to be in...for instance ~ I would choose to fly out of PvD if the prices were the same since I wouldn't want to drive through Boston to get to MHT. There's always traffic no matter what time of day you go through there!
