can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, OK hotel for Manchester airport-parking isn't required, just somewhere to drag our wretched bodies into the dead centre of the room the night before we fly;)

I don't know if the offer is still on but we booked the Travelodge Manchester airport for £15 for a family room a few weeks ago.
Even if the offer isn't still on I think the rooms are £26.
Bewleys is another hotel that gets good reviews.

tripadvisor.com gives user reviews on hotels which you could use to help. We are staying at the Radison SAS this year, hubbie has stayed there before and said it is lovely. Next year staying in the Bewley one mentioned above because of its good reviews.

I can recommend Bewleys as we've used it for the last few years. The resturant is OK for dinner and is very good for breakfast. I can also recommend the Radisson, but it has got very expensive.

Thanks everyone-I booked the Travelodge for £26-can't believe that! (Now to tell DBf it cost £56 hee hee;) )

stayed in bewleys 2005, very good hotel, staying in the raddisson in june, only reason being the proximity to the airport, check in, then back to hotel for breakfast,
you cant see the runway from bewleys hotel, pretty sure you will be from the raddisson, but not 100%:yay:

Radisson SAS is really lovely - TCD put us there for our 22 hour delay 2 years ago. We have booked our stay there the night before this year (£144 eeek!) but at least we only have to get up at 6.30am instead of 4.45am. I also like the way you can roll out of the hotel into the airport.

Another vote for Bewley's, stayed there in August last year. Don't forget if you're flying MyTravel you can check in the night before which makes staying at the airport even better. The next morning you can just go straight through to departures.

:goodvibes

Another vote for Bewleys have stayed there twice & will stay there again if flying from Manchester. I booked direct with the hotel, I think price for rooms are £69. Hotel is within walking distance of airport or they provide a shuttle bus which is included in the price.

Haven't eaten in the restaurant but food in the bar was very nice.

They have a flat rate of £79 per room now, which we paid. Still much less than what the Radisson and other hotels in the airport were looking for (£150 per room  ), and Bewleys has such a great reputation through places like Trip Advisor.

Im looking forward to the 'luxury' before we go slumming it in the Comfort Inn LBV :lmao:

I just looked to book the travel lodge and it was £26 per adult not per room. This was for the 25th July.Am I too early looking now?:scared1:

I just had a look for Manchester Airport 25th of July and its available £26 PER DOUBLE ROOM :confused3 i added 2 adults to the room and added it to basket and it still came out at £26 so give it another try!

There are also family rooms available for £26 too.

your right-I went through a different link-will now phone our taxi guy and ask if he can take us up the night befor instead of 5am in the morning. Thanks for that. There are no pictures on this site of the hotel anyone have any? :rotfl: :lmao:

I have also booked 2 rooms (2 people in each) at the travelodge at £26 per room. I thought this was excellent value. I have also stayed at Bewleys under its previous life as a Holiday Inn Express and would have stayed there this year except for the good deal I got at Travelodge. I would avoid like the plague (basically because you might catch it) the Brittania at Stockport which is about 3 miles from the airport.
