Manatees in Epcot????

I love those floating potatoes. SO CUTE gnawing on that lettuce :goodvibes
never heard anyone call them that before.. cute name...

I know their nick-name as a Sea-Cow... they are very cute. I live where they swim in the wild. In fact, during the winter months, many more of them migrate down to my area for the winter :goodvibes.. and hang out in the warmer waters by the power plant. There is a park there called Manatee Park... named after them...

So glad to see this posted! It's an exhibit I have not stopped to see before. I didn't know they were there!! It's high on the list for next spring :thumbsup2

If they are just sleeping when you first get there, hang around awhile before walking away. Sometimes they will wake up and start playing with each other.. It really is a must see.. at least for me it is...:goodvibes

Depending on how much your mother loves manatees and how badly she wants to see them, there's a great place to view them in the wild about an hour and a half from WDW, outside of Tampa.

Only thing is, there's no guarantee they will be there since it is the wild -- but on some days, there are literally dozens of them.

Also, it's completely free.

Here's the link if you're interested.

One warning: There's literally nothing else to do here. There's a small exhibit room and a small gift shop, but that's it. No shows. No rides. No games -- it's just a place to watch manatees.

Thanks for the heads up on this place.

The main reason for going to WDW is the manatees that my wife is a freak over, we're going to do one of the charter snorkel tours... and looks like we'll go do a walk too (assuming they're there, I'll research other stuff to do near or on the way there/back), and now we can see manatees at Epcot? Good lord I thought Epcot would be one of those "get it done in a day places" knowing my wife, she'll be there all day just looking at manatees.

Thanks again for all the info... :goodvibes

A sea cow and a manatee are 2 different animals, but very similar. Sea cows are basically smaller versions of manatees, living other places...
In my family we call them floating rocks ;)
