Dang! Just got word DH's review is on a Thursday which just altered our travel dates ( this is why we drive,,,flexibility) however, that flexible drive is from Chicago, so we take 2 days. We now have to depart Orlando on Tuesday and return on Wednesday. We are traveling in June, any advice? We know to avoid Atl like the plague between 3-7...but now heading back, seems like we will hit rush hour no matter what state we are in on both days. Blech. Anyone else had to navigate on the weekdays?

We typically do the drive on weekdays. We drive from Northwest Indiana so we are neighbors. I have found that avoiding ATL during the times you stated is key. Also, I have found that going straight through ATL and not taking the bypass saves 30-45 minutes. Also drive straight through Indy (if you go I65), the bypass will take you about an extra 25 minutes. Another tip, the Kentucky State Police are really tight with the speed limit on I 65, if you go that way. They do not give a lot of cushion over the speed limit before they ticket.
