Man Vs. Wild

LOVE it, LOVE it, LOOOOOVE IT!!!! Bear is just entirely to easy on the eyes  With my luck, I'd get stuck somewhere and daydream about him and forget all the survival techniques!

In all seriousness, I really enjoy the show, I just get a little skeeved out when he kills fish and bites right into 'em :rotfl: I know I would HAVE to do it, but last week he had blood all over his face and it was gross!!!

DS BEGGED to stay up til 9 tonight so he could watch.

The raw fish and bugs and worms were icky, but to a 9YO boy, Bear is the epitome of cool.

Saw all the ads for it but didn't know it had started yet. Time, channel?

I like it, but I actually like "Survivorman" better. The guy on "Man vs. Wild" has a camera crew with him. The guy on "Survivorman" is completely alone. And "Survivorman" at least cooks his food! :thumbsup2

I thought this was a good show, but after last nights episode of him in the Rocky mountains, I lost all respect. When he is the river you can clearly see a life jacket under his gray pullover. I'm sorry, but he clearly states that he is to receive no help from anyone and then to see that life jacket, that was pretty sorry. My wife and I were watching it and I kept thinking, why does his chest look bigger? He even said that he was going to use his backpack with his jacket inside for flotation. So, did he pull out the life jacket, put it on and then stick his jacket in the backpack? I asked my wife to look and tell me what she saw. She looked at me and said, is that a life jacket under his pullover? I said that's exactly what it is.

Hear, hear! Bear is awesome but Les was better. To me, having a camera crew along makes it cheating. Though I do agree with the ladies who  Bear; he is so cute!

At least Les has a new show; I Shouldn't Be Alive: Science of Survival. I watched one of those and it was cool. :thumbsup2

He said on the live chat with him (a transcript is on discovery.com/manvswild) that he did indeed wear a life vest, but only because the directors forced him to. He also said that he refuses to have any aid again unless he's dying, but I am hard pressed to believe that. That episode where he "killed" the rabbit with the stick was so fake; he couldn't even hit the stump forever then he kills the rabbit in one try. And even then the stick obviously went so high it would hit nothing but the rabbit's ears. :sad2:

Man vs. Wild???
Survivorman???

OK, add two more shows that I have never heard of. What stations do these shows come on? What is / are these shows about? A man surviving on his own in the wilderness?

Both shows are on Discovery Channel.

Survivorman was about a man who had to survive 7 days in each location he was dropped, by himself, with no aid. He had to film himself and keep going back for camera equipment, etc. which made it doubly hard on him. Unfortunately, this show no longer runs, but its star has a new show, which is a spin-off of I Shouldn't Be Alive called Science of Survival.

Man vs. Wild is a different guy who has to survive the same as Survivorman, only this one has a whole camera crew with him! He still has to sleep in makeshift shelters and eat gross stuff though.
