Man I Wish I Could Have Saw Him Live

Sid Vicious, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Joey Ramone, Tupac Shakur (hell yeah) ... just to name a few

MUNKY I have to say I was surprised by your post--It is rare to find someone in the younger generation who knows about Stevie but also enjoys him--WAY TO GO!! Stevie and his ban Double Trouble are one of my perennial favorites his death in 1990 was truly upseting because he had worked so hard to set an example and kicked drugs and alcohol--In total there were 5 albums-Texas Flood--Couldn't Stand the Weather-Soul to Soul-In Step(the title of this album was in relation to the 12 step program to kick drugs and alcohol)& Family Style

Some of my favorite songs are-Crossfire-Couldn't stand the Weather-Pride and Joy and of course The house is Rockin

I sure do miss his bluesy rock and the killer riffs Stevie could let out---I am glad you found out about him and hope you continue to enjoy the music he has left for us and am glad you thought enough of your audio experience to bring it to the masses!
So everyone who reads about Stevie Ray Vaughan check out a couple of the songs I listed above and trust me when I say you won't be disapointed!

It was my dad and the guys in his band(s). My dad is a huge fan of SRV, and has some of his albums. I've heard stories about him sence I was a little kid. I remember going over to his friend's house, and they would have DVD's of him on the TV. I would watch him in awe. Just the way he played that guitar, the way he felt his music, the way he sounded. It just seemed right.

Whenever someone asks who I think the best guitarist of all time is, I point to that man. Forget Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhodes and Zakk Wilde...Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best.

Umm...I'm still pretty young so not many people I liked have died *yet* and I guess I could say Elvis because his songas are pretty cool and he is the only thing i can think of lol

Tell your dad I said "Way to Go"-I have 4 kids and try to impart my music knowledge onto them-Just to help round them out of course! Since your dad has such great taste in music and has imparted his wisdom on you ask him to hook you up w/some Steve Vai! If you love Stevie Ray Vaughan you will definatly appreciate Steve Vai---I was out and about in the hayday of rock and got to experience many great artists when people would hear them and be in awe--Glad to see that they can still be appreciated!

I think he has some Steve Vai.:scratchin

dont really have someone i would have like to see live before they died. but i wish i saw selena ( spanish singer) she waz murdered, :sad2: sad!

I wouldn't go as far as to say SRV was the greatest of all time, but he certainly was great. Personally I think to be a great guitar player you should be able to play all different genre's of music. Eric Clapton is the only person I've seen that can really do this. Along with John5.

But to answer the original question,

Jimi Hendrix
