I think it is important. I like that my husband's skin smells fesh with a scented moisturizer, and that his hands are not rough (because I buy him Norweigan formula hand creme), lol.
Do you think man-grooming is important, and since most men don't care, do you try and 'help' in this area? ;)

wrong post, but yes I do like a well-groomed man.;)

Scented moisturizer and hand cream, on a man? Not a chance in my house.

I don't like rough hands either but as long as my husband is clean and smells reasonably good - I'm not too picky. Using a particular scented moisturizer - well as long as he using something I don't really care what. :confused3

He doesn't use any type of scented moisturizers or creams. In the winter he will use Vaseline Intensive Care hand lotion but that's it. Plain old soap is what he uses to clean up. If we have someplace fancy to go he will really scrub his hands with bleach, but he works with his hands and they are never totally clean.

My DH says he's too hairy to use moisturizer :lmao:!! For him, it's his heavy, heavy beard/5 o'clock shadow that is such a trial to deal with. And yes, it is very important to me that he shave at least every other day, and keeps his hair nicely groomed and his fingernails clean.

And not that I am grumbling - but with the amount of money, time, and hot-waxin' agony I spend on keeping MYSELF buffed, puffed and pretty.... well, let's just say, it's very much appreciated when my DH goes to some effort too!

Oh - to answer the OP - what I do to "help" is to make sure that DH never ever runs out of razors or shaving cream....

I think it's important for DH to dress nice and be well groomed in his line of work (Director at a Pharmaceutical Company). Over the years he's really stepped up on the grooming, and uses body wash and cologne - not strong and offensive smelling just clean smelling. He also does a good job with his eyebrow grooming - something not all men like to do.

DH works for a roofing supply company and is more of a rugged type of guy, but I like that. ;)

Oh and since I'm pregnant, scented *anythign* makes me want to puke. :)

I like a nice rugged, manly man.:cool1:

Me too! As long as he doesn't smell.. :lmao:

Honestly, I think it'd be weird if my DH was a "Groomer Man". Just not his thing, not my thing..

I don't want a man who spends more time prettying himself up than I do. :rotfl2: The one that gets to me is the way some younger guys tend to over-groom (in my estimation) their eyebrows. Don't get me wrong....If you have a unibrow, a little waxing or plucking would be welcome so that you eventually have TWO distinct eyebrows. But when I walk by the threading stations in the mall and see a row of teen and twenty-something males getting their eyebrows threaded into feminine arched smoothness ala Joey Lawrence, all I can think is, "No way I would ever date a man whose eyebrow upkeep budget is bigger than mine." :lmao: When I was that age, no self-respecting guy would have dreamed of sitting out in the open and having his eyebrows threaded.....not unless he wanted to remain a virgin forever. :rotfl:

I come from a family of women with quite nice eyebrows, thank you very much. Smooth, with natural arches, no need to pluck much...When we first met DD at 9 months in Russia, I sent a brief email back to my DSis describing DD's personality and what she looked like. (We had no idea before we flew over.) I mentioned her eyebrows of all things, because she had beautifully shaped ones that framed her eyes and were very dramatic. DSis understood completely. So I do appreciate a nicely groomed eyebrow.....just on a WOMAN. When I see a womanly eyebrow on a man's face, it's disconcerting to say the least. They can wax their chests, legs, whatever, but please.....Keep "man" eyebrows on your face. :thumbsup2

I totally agree with the overly groomed man. My DBF keeps his body moisturized with St. Ive's. Other than shaving or trimming his 5 o'clock shadow, he doesn't do much. It's nice to have a slightly rough man. :)

I like to be the pretty one in a relationship.

I'm all for hygiene, but I find more than that a turnoff. I don't want a guy with more "product" than I have.

as long as he brushes his teeth, takes a shower and uses deodorant I am happy

Showering, shaving, goos breath are musts!! I also do cut DH's hair and pluck his eyebrows! He is genetically prone so some wild brows! So, he's good with it. Crazy brows are just distracting to me. They also make him look really tired and he is in sales, so a tidy face is a plus!

My ex was a real Man's man. So he wouldn't wear anything heavily scented, girlie smelling or that smelled like Jergen's moisturizer, that his mom used to wear.

But, I did get him to wear "Kiss My Face" SPF 15 moisturizer. it comes in a big pump bottle that worked even better. He liked that it wasn't all girlie and did have an SPF.
