Mama's/F!/DDP Question

If you use the DDP at Mamas with the F! package, do you get an appetizer as well? It says the F! package includes an app...and that its 1 TS credit for Mamas F! package, but it seems like if this were the case, wouldn't everyone just book the F! package to get a free app since the DDP is usually just entree and dessert? I plan on doing F!...just figuring out if we want the package or if we want to go elsewhere for dinner before.

Yes, we had app, entree, & dessert last June on F! package at MM.

Yes, you get the appetizer, because you are purchasing a meal package. And yes, there are people who book the package there and at Brown Derby and don't plan to see Fantasmic, just so they can get that appetizer. There's no way for anyone to tell if you actually attend Fantasmic or not. But these are the folks who know this beforehand, because they don't advertise that the appetizer's included for DDP.

Of course, you also have to eat dinner at, what, 3 in the afternoon or so? If you don't mind that, then sure, go for it.

Thanks for the info- I'd only go there if I planned to go to F! (honestly...I am just choosing the lesser of 2 evils since neither MM or H&V get good reviews) so I'm not cheating the system but just thought it was odd since it was still just 1 TS credit. I guess not many people know thats the case (although, the prices are fairly cheap so it doesn't seem like a huge deal to get the app.)

We'd have to get the latest possible reservation...we have nappers so 5 is probably the earliest we can make it back to a park.

We did the F! pkge at Mama Melrose over xmas week and loved the fact that got app, entree and dessert for 1 credit on regular DDP and our meal was wonderful all around! DH loved his steak more than our dinner the night before at Le Cellier..great use of DDP imho.

I originally booked us for F! at Mama Melrose for our upcoming August trip with free dining because of the app. I ended up changing it to a regular reservation because of the $10pp charge to your credit card if you don't show up. We are travelling with another family who bagged on a few meals during our last trip and I don't want to pay for them if they decide they don't want to eat dinner that day. Would not hesitate if it was just my own family.

You must book a specific F! package. A regular ADR at Mama Melrose will NOT get you the special seating for the Fantasmic show.

As PP said, you have to call to book Mama's as an F! package and usually the times don't go much past 5 (it might depend on when F! is that night.) 7:25 would definitely be too late since F! might be at 7:30 or 8 that night. The package is just for the 1st show if theres two.

The F! package is from a limited menu, isn't it? And the fixed price option is only offered at a time when they restaurant is likely to be slow -- better to fill the table at a lower profit margin than to leave it empty.

I can see some people doing exactly that to get a free app, but IMHO unless they were planning on seeing F! why would they want to go to DHS on a F! night and fight those crowds all day and have to eat dinner early if they were doing it soley to get the free app, to me it would not be worth it. I would rather go to DHS on a non F! day eat at a normal hour and have a less crowded park to enjoy

I do have to wonder why they include an app with the DDP, I feel a bit cheated if I use my DxDP to eat there since I paid more to have an app included with my meals

You are NOT limited with F! pkge..you can order off the regular menu..we did with no problems.

Be aware there are a limited amount of these F! packages available. Usually, you have to be quick to snag a reservation.

There is a $10 credit charge/person at time of booking for no shows. You can cancel before 48 hours without the penalty.
