Booked Mama Melrose for the first time for this April. We have done SciFi a few times and Prime time. Almost booked Hollywood and Vine, but after reviews switched to Mama Melrose after reviewing menu. I wanted something different, I hope I made a good choice.
DH,me and 3 sons, all who like different things for dinner.

Any comments would be appreciated.:)

I was scared about reviews at MM. But it was super good on our trip Sept 09. We will be going back this year. I think the only complaint I have was I wish the bread was heated. I was just room temp with a oil and pepper dipping sauce. But I still at it:lmao:

I think you will enjoy it!

We like the food at Mama Melrose. Sometimes we find the service slow, but everything tastes great. The portions are pretty big, which is good if you have boys who like to eat a lot.

We have been to Mama Melrose a few times and always enjoy it..reminds us of a Carrabbas or Olive Garden

Our service has been on the slow side for dinner. The portions are more than adequate. Enjoy.

we love mama melrose--its one of our must do's! i was going to take my mom there for the first time in march. when i sent her the itinerary she said she used to take me there all the time when i was little! for some reason it looked very familiar when i was there as an adult. that's why!!

my fiance and i love the chicken parm, he likes the steak as well. the minestrone soup and calimari are really good as well!

We love Mama Melrose - so good! I think it was one of my favorites from our trip in Dec. The steak was phenomenal - better than the one I had at Artist Point!

I am considering Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package, at first I thought I might book Brown Derby but I was not impressed with BD on my last visit there and I would rather use 1 TS credit instead of 2. I have read a few bad reviews of Mama Melrose but just as many people love it.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I heard the steak is good. One DS loves steak. Then, I saw the calamari, two love that. My oldest likes Penne Vodka, check and hubby and I eat everything, so I think I am safe.

Mama Melrose's was one of our new restaurants to try in Dec. of 2009 and we all loved it...and so much cheaper than the Italian place at EPCOT too which is our usual place. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Like everyone else, we too really enjoyed our meal at Mama Melroses. We booked it again for our May trip (doing the Fantasmic Dining package there). Mama Melrose is one of two restaurants that we really enjoy at DHS, the other being 50's PT. If you like chicken parm, then I would highly suggest getting that . Have a great time, you won't be disappointed.

We had a good experience at MM and a very bad one. The first one was a Fantasmic package and was decent food and good experience. Seating for fantasmic was as described off to the side in a separate section...but the good thing was no lineups.

Now the bad..we just came back from Disney a couple of weeks ago and I meant to post this. We had full ressie's for MM that we made the usual 180 days out and had a confirm number. When we went to MM we were there the usual 15 min ahead of time.

The CM at the reservation desk could not find our reservation either by name or phone number and very rudely informed us she was "too busy to look further". I asked her to phone disney dining to confirm but she refused.

She said all she could do was try to get us in later if we could "prove it"...

Unfortunately we forgot our ressie list back at AKL. so back in the car we went and back to AKL - we had no other choice. We phoned Dis dining and of course the reservation was correct.

The nice CM on the phone wanted to know who the person @MM was of course being upset we did not get her name. But the CM on the phone took our time of arrival at MM, date etc etc and filled out a report. I do not want to get the CM fired but this was very poor service.

Later, of course I found out that had I had our cell phone on us we could have phoned DD and they would have phoned MM immediately. Or I could have gone to customer relations at the entrance to DHS and they would have done the same thing. All things you don't know of course when you are stressed and upset..

And finally I could have made a scene and called for the manager - then he or she would have had to phone DD and then that would end that problem..

Well - we did get a meal somewhere else that night and it was good as well.

This is just a warning to make sure you have your dis dining reservation numbers with you at all times...

DH and a friend in our party thought the steak was the best they had all week. The calamari is really good. The Mozz and Tomato is also really good. DD loved the Penne. I had the entree that has clams and mussels in it the first time we went. If you book it as the Fantasmic Package, you each get an appetizer even on the DDP.

We did Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic package on our trip in Dec. 2008. We have been to MM many times and enjoyed it each time. We really liked the option of doing the Fantasmic package that time around since we had never seen Fantasmic before. It was a lot of fun! Plus by doing the package with the dining plan they added an appetizer for each person. So we left VERY VERY full!!! Mama Melrose is already reserved for our trip in April lol.

I don't like telling people they made a bad decision, but I have given Mama Melrose 4 tries and the best the food has ever been was average. Most of the time it is poor. The service is good most of the time and that is why I kept trying it. I think that Brown Derby and 50's Primetime are the best and I have never had a bad meal at either, I would stick with both of those if I were you, but let me know if you try Mama Melrose and have a good experience, maybe it has gotten better since my last try.

It couldnt have been too bad if you've eaten there 4 times! Just sayin:)

Just ate there 12/29 for Fantasmic package(2:15 lunch for 6:30pm show). It was our second time there and it was very good. We were seated early, and it was quite busy. Server was attentive and very pleasant. We had DDP but with F package you get app, entree and dessert. Appetizers: caesar salad for DH and I had salad with blue cheese and walnuts..both were delish!! DH had the steak with potatoes and I had flatbread with shrimp and arugila..also both excellent; dessert I had sugar-free lemon creme with berries and it was one of the best desserts all week and DH had cake I think(can't remember, sorry. It was a leisurely meal, but service was efficient. I actually spoke to one of the chefs on the way our as he was standing by the open kitchen and complemented him...I also had read some of the other negative reviews, but I had had a good experience before and I'm glad we did it again....I will put it on my list for next trip also.

We just there in October, and LOVED it. I had the chicken flatbread and thought it was awesome. Service was efficient and friendly. We would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

We ate there on Christmas Day and we LOVED it. I had the porkchop with the garlic bread pudding...OMG SO GOOD. And it was huge! My mom had the chicken flatbread and my friend had the chicken parm. My dad had some sort of pasta dish...with mussles I think? I cant remember what it was called. For dessert I had the lemon creme with berries and my friend had vanilla gelato. I though the gelato was just "meh" but the rest of the meal was excellent. The service was great too. I can't wait to go back! :thumbsup2
