Mama Melrose wait times?

We have an upcoming adr at MM and was reading some reviews of the place. It seemed like at least 1/2 the comments said that they had to wait at least 30 minutes after their adr for a table. I wonder why they are always backed up with their adr's? Is the food worth a long adr wait?

I will say that almost every time we've gone to MM the check in area has been CHAOTIC. That being said, I think the longest we have ever waited past our ADR was 10-15 minutes. We usually go during traditionally non-peak times (October, November). You'll see a mixed bag about the quality of the dining experience here, but personally we really enjoy it and go every trip. I think it helps if you can make an earlier ADR so you're not at the mercy of tables clearing out before you can be seated. Good luck!

Also, the one poster I read said that this was the only restaurant that they wouldn't let you substitute a salad/soup for a dessert if you were on
the DDP

Given what I am reading here: We want to go to the 8:30 showing of Fantasmic! the same evening that we have a 7:15 ADR at Mama Melrose's...
Are we going to have a hard time making it to the show on time?

We were seated as soon as we arrived. It might depend on what time of year you go. We went last Sept with no wait.

We had to wait about 20 minutes past our ADR time when we went a few Septembers ago. We found the quality of the food to be average and we wouldn't go back again.

Thank you for the replies. We are going at the end of November. Maybe if we arrive a bit early, we will be seated ASAP. Is the service fairly quick once you are seated, generally speaking?

I don't think you are going to make fantasmic. People line up before the show and you being done eating within an hour is probably not going to happen. Can you go to a later fantasmic if there is one?

We will be with a group of 20; but most of us are not going to Mama Melrose's. So we were thinking of all getting FPs for Fantasmic and those NOT going to Mama Melrose's will help us get seats at Fantasmic. Do you think that will work? There is only one show that night at 8:30, unfortunately :(

No. I think you need to decide what you want more, MM or Fantasmic. If it was me, I would try to book a Fantasmic dining package that places your meal at an earlier time and leaves you room to enjoy your meal and then go to the show. I have no idea how many people will choose the show you want to see that night, so if there is a large crowd ahead of you, having someone save your seat may not work. Because there is only one show, you know that anyone in the park who wants to see it will already be in line.
