Mama Melrose vs Tutto

We went to Mama Melrose in March and really liked it. I had the 5 cheese flat bread pizza which was really good, however once I took a bite of my DH's chicken parm., I wished I had gotten that instead. My in-laws loved their food as well, and as for my kids, they had the typical spaghetti so of course they loved their food too. The service was very good and the ambiance of the whole restaurant was very nice. We originally had not planned on going here but decided to try and see if they would let us in without an ADR, we were seated within minutes of getting a pager. Now as for Tutto, we are trying this out for the first time in September....my DH saw the menu and made me cancel our Coral Reef ADR just so we can eat here (he loves Italian restaurants).

I liked them both. But really loved Mama Melroses.

The food was about equal. But the service I received at MM's was much, much better. And I preferred MM's atmosphere much more.

With so many choices at Epcot, I would try something else there..and get my Italian fix at MMs.

:cool1:

MM don't even compare to Tutto. Tutto ie really really good MM is like an Olive Garden don't get me wrong it's good just think Tutto is much better.
But if you never went go you will have a good meal there.

Tutto was much better in my opinion. Mama Melrose was pretty bland and my DH asked me never to book it again.

we were not impressed in 2008 and do not plan to go back to MM. We are hoping that T is more like "real" Italian food for our next trip.

They don't compare. To me Tutto is real italian, MM is olive garden quality.

They are both good. Tutto is authentic Italian like my Italian grandmother cooks. Mama Melrose is different and more like Olive Garden to me. I much prefer Tutto.

I agree. I give MM a "Eh." Tutto we loved so much we are making sure we go back on our next trip. I had the mushroom ravioli last time and it was wonderful!

we tried both in april. loved tutto! as for mm...not so much. but i didnt like my dish that i had. dh didnt care as according to him, food is food! lol

We thought MM was good, we do really like Olive Garden tho.

Now we have another italian booked so I wanted DH to try Sci Fi or PT when we go to DS but since he enjoyed MM last time he wanted to go back..

Havent tried Tutto just b/c I wanted an Italian place that was a bit more casual feeling..

Honestly, I hated MM, the food had no flavor at all, and was nervous about booking Tutto for this trip, in case it was the same. But after reading these responses, I'm more confident. Thanks! :goodvibes

We have been to both and I agree with this. MM isn't terrible. It is sort of like *chain Italian* food. We love Tutto. The food is definately more authentic Italian. We have eaten there several times and have enjoyed everything. :)

That being said, I would only recommend Tutto if you are on the Dining Plan because it is crazy:upsidedow expensive. Even though we did enjoy our meals, I wouldn't have wanted to pay OOP for them.

We like Mama Melrose's. We have not yet been to Tutto, mainly because I am afraid it will be like Alfredo's, which IMO was horrible.

Casual. Lemme tell you Theres nuttin better than an early say 4:00 - 4:30 dinner dining outside alfresco sipping your favorite wine or an ice cold bottle of Peroni Beer. There's nothing about it that says its to stuffy or fancy. Its very casual IMHO. The food is Very very good. And I've been taking my kids there since they were 2. Theyve gone when at age 2, 3 , & 4 years old. Never a problem. Outside is so aweome unless it's very humid or extremely hot, but That would be up to you. I ve never eaten inside..Also Ive never eaten at MM, but have heard just OK things about it. If OK is Ok for you then go there, If An authentic dinner with some nice atmospshere is your cup o' tea, then by far I recommend TuTTo.

For atmosphere, Tuttos. However, I do think it was overpriced and even though others say it is like authentic Italian food, it was really just "okay" for me. I prefer more seasoned food. I have been to Tuttos twice.

I had steered away from Mama Melrose due to "just okay" reviews; however, we decided to do a walkon this past weekend and my dish really was delicious and very seasoned. It was a chicken pasta dish with artichokes and green peas. My granddaughter enjoyed the tomato flatbread and my grandson liked the child's grilled fish. Price was very reasonable and large portions enabled us to even take some back to the room.

I am probably in the minority, but on our return visit, it definitely will be MM over Tuttos.
