Mama Melrose vs Fairfax Fare vs Backlot Express

Currently have 5:40 reservation at Melrose's. Will this give us enough time to get to Star Wars fireworks (going in late Feb./early March)? Also, how is the food at Mama's compared to the above two QS? We love good italian. Thanks!

Food is great at Mama Melrose, DH favorite steak on property! I love the spicy seafood pasta. We have always had good luck at Fairfax Fare, but have not been since the last menu change. Have heard good things about the chicken enchiladas. Naver been a big fan of Backlot, but it is not awful. Think you should be able to make the fireworks, I always tell our server ahead of time.

I don't know about the time frame for the fireworks, but agree with the PP that Mama Melrose is the superior choice. I dined there for the first time in September & I couldn't have been more amazed & thrilled by the food & service. Loved that steak. For a strip, it was top notch & better than other strip steaks on property including Sanaa & Kona. The bread service was fresh & tasty. I had the Fantasmic Pkg with the complimentary appy & the calamari was excellent. The decor was quirky & fun. The serving portions were large/substantial so possible to share for guests with lighter appetites. MM was my surprise hit of my vacation. Can't say enough good things about it.

I also cannot comment to the timeing, but MM is a very good choice.

Depends what time the fireworks are. Allow at least 90 minutes to get seated and eat. Aim to be in the viewing area 20 minutes before showtime. So if the fireworks are 7:30 (for example) I would say a 5:30 reservation is safe, so 5:40 is probably fine.
If fireworks are later (7:45) then great you don't need to rush.
If they are earlier (7pm) look for a new reservation.

Another chiming in to say that MM is a hidden gem. We kept avoiding it because I never heard positive things about it. We tried it because we are determined to try them all once and wow, it was wonderful. They have a fish dish that is to die for good. And their flat breads! Wow, we always get one of those to share and then each order an entree. It's consistently one of our favorite meals.

Fairfaxe was alright, no where near as good as MM but decent for QS. But I haven't tried since the latest menu change.
