if you were choosing between hollywood & vine or mama melrose's which would you choose? If we don't do mama melrose then we're going to do Tony's in MK. Any suggestions?

They're both a bust for us! :lmao:

DH hated Mama Melrose so we've been there once and never going back. :goodvibes

Hollywood and Vine we didn't care for the lunch but DS4 has a crush on June so we tolerate the food for him. This visit we're trying the breakfast.

We're also trying Tony's Town Square. SIL ate there and said the food was very good. Hopefully DH will approve :rotfl:

If it's Mama Melrose or Tony's Town Square for dinner, I'd choose Tony's Town Square.

If it's for lunch I'd say Hollywood and Vine just for the kids.

I've tried both and my vote would be for H&V. It's just your basic buffet, but the food isn't bad. I know that a lot of people hate it, but I've always enjoyed eating there. If you have picky eaters, there's something for everyone. The restaurant itself is cute, too. It's decorated like a 50's diner with lots of chrome and pastels.

I tried Mama Melrose's for the 2nd time last August and it's just so blah. I won't be going back there anytime soon.

we're going to be going to one as part of the fantasmic package, so it will be for dinner. So far, it looks like H&V. LOL

We did H&V because MM was booked and man, I wish they weren't. We were not fans of H&V. We've always had great meals at MM and will be returning in May!

We love MM...and the Fantasmic package on the regular DP in great because it still includes appetizers (I predict this loop hole will be closed soon!).

We really like MM. Tony's and MM are not the same type of menu. I would pass on H & V.

We're doing MM this year. We did H&V last and year and while we had a really enjoyable dinner, we want to try something new this year.

Another vote for Mama Melrose!

We had a Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine and hated it. Perhaps, we were there on an "off" night (every restaurant has them), but the food was mediocre at best and downright yucky at worst. The tables are extremely close together; we felt like we were sitting with the people at the table next to us. At any rate, it's the one restaurant in WDW to which DH has said "never again".

The next year, we tried Mama Melrose for our Fantasmic Dinner Package, and we loved it. Our dinner was one of our very favorites of our whole trip. However, Mama Melrose generally gets mixed reviews too, so maybe we were just there on a "good" night as opposed to an "off" night. ;)

We've also tried Tony's Town Square for lunch. While both Tony's and Mama Melrose's are both Italian restaurants, I found the atmosphere of the 2restuarants to be different. Our food at Tony's was only really "okay", but I would eat there again.

Had a horrible meal all around at MM in February. Won't ever be going back. Haven't been to H&V, but I know I will never darken MM door ever again.

Mama Melrose and get the Steak Gorgonzola. :goodvibes

We were there in April 2007, and October 2007. Had very nice service and a great meal both times. Though we never really got the Italian

We hated H & V!!! My not picky at all DH couldn't find anything he liked there and ate off of the "child's area" of the buffet. Our dd 12 didn't really like any of the choices either. To top it all off, the buffet was pretty dirty as far as buffets go and pans were left empty, etc. None of the food was very good at all and we vowed to never ever ever go back there.

We haven't tried MM, so no input on that.

I have never been to MM (planning an ADR for this trip though), but we loved H&V. DS really enjoyed it and the food wasn't bad at all. I don't really understand why so many people don't care for it :confused3 But some people would say the same thing about why I don't eat meat :rotfl:

We much prefer Mama Melrose over Hollywood & Vine. My DH loves the Chicken Parmesan and I really enjoy the Four Cheese Flatbread at Mama Melrose. We have always had great, attentive service. We liked Hollywood & Vine the first time we did it with our kids (they were probably around 13 and 11 at the time). We have gone twice since and found it to be really bad food--lukewarm at best, took forever to replenish things, terrible service (and all they need to do is bring your drinks and your bill) and the bathrooms were filthy.

Mama Melrose's is just OK. I'm sure there are better italian places near your home. H&V is mediocre as well. Considering H&V is cheaper, thats my choice.
