Hello! My family and I have an ADR for the Fantasmic pkg to Mama Melrose at HS. We have never eaten there before so I was wondering how kid friendly it is and looking for opinions on the food! Our ADR is for lunch at 2:00. Thanks!

It's been awhile, but we were pleasantly surprised by our Mama Melrose meal. We had 4 kids with us, ages 3-12. They really liked it, too. The service was probably the best we've ever had at a non-signature restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to make an ADR.

We enjoyed it, but it's not a must do. It's a good option for a Fantastic package.

It's more Olive Garden-Italian than authentic Italian - as long as that's your expectation going in, you'll be fine. It's tasty but it won't necessarily knock your socks off.

Our Mama Melrose Fantasmic package meal was one of our favorites last year. My 7 year old had spaghetti and meatballs (I can't remember what she had for her appetizer), the thing that was the biggest hit was my 10 year old had the fennel crusted seared tuna appitzer and still talks about it to this day! With the Fantasmic package you get an appetizer, entrée and a dessert trio.

This was also a pleasant surprise for us a couple of years ago. We skipped it last year because my cousin wanted the Cobb salad from the Brown Derby, and we already had an ADR for Tutto Italia to get our Italian fix. I really liked their penne pasta w/alfredo sauce and chicken; my mom had the mushroom flatbread, and I'm pretty sure my dad had the spaghetti and marinara sauce. The spaghetti and penne portions were very generous - I don't think either my dad or I was able to eat everything.

Our kids (ages 10and 7) really enjoyed it last year. The spaghetti and meatballs was a big hit with the kids. I had the shrimp and pasta. It was delicious!! We also did the Fantasmic package and it was a LOT of food. They let my husband and I order frozen cappuccinos for our drink and we were all too full to touch any of the desserts. They were kind enough to package them up for us and even offered us another frozen cappuccino to go. We were too full but it was still a kind gesture.

We ate there three years ago. There were plenty of families eating there. It wasn't fancy or stuffy. We liked it. The food was tasty and the service was good. I believe I had the pasta and chicken. Others ate the mussels and the chicken parm.

Must have gotten an off day in November but I didn't care for it at all. It is one of my been there done that restaurants. It felt a little dirty actually and I had to send silverware back for not being clean as well as being served a plate with old food stuck on the bottom.

The food was okay so that was a good spot. Our group agreed if we were doing Fantasmic packages again it would be at Brown Derby.

Did it just for the Fantasmic dining package during our last trip and we were pretty indifferent about it. It's a good deal if you're doing it for the package but we wouldn't go back otherwise.

Me likey. Sangria is good...desserts are yummy. Food is American Italian. I got chicken parm and wasn't bad. It is pretty kid friendly. Only thing was we waited about 20-25 minutes past ADR to be seated.

we did the F! there last trip and enjoyed. My sis ordered the steak and said it was surprisingly good; did not expect that at an Italian restaurant

only issue we had was our ADR was for 12PM and at first there were a lot of people waiting but then everyone got seated pretty quickly once they started. was like they were not ready for opening.

It won't blow you away as far as kid friendliness as it's just a restaurant. The food was good from what I remember but nothing I'd have to do again. I prefer 50's.

DH and son always say it is the best steaks they've ever had. I love love love the Seafood Cioppino, try to get it once every trip! Like others have said, look at the menus and decide what is best for your group. You will find bad reviews on every place, just have to decide for yourself!!

We have always enjoyed our meals at Mama Melrose. It's one of DD's favorite's and a must do for every trip.

I worked at Mama's on my College Program, so you could say I'm biased. But I just love it! The steak with the four cheese penne is to die for! And I'm surprised no one mentioned the calamari, it's my favorite! Can't wait to go back on our upcoming trip!

We ate there for the Fantasmic! package in March. I thought the food was good. I wasn't a huge fan of the dessert option, which was a sampler. However, our service was slow and our wait was long, despite having an ADR. We missed our Toy Story FastPass. But, I'd still eat there again. I had the steak. It was pretty good.

It's my 'if I don't have an ADR somewhere, try Mama Melrose' and I'll usually get in. The food is okay and will fill you up if you are hungry and I've found it kid friendly.
