Can anyone give their thoughts on the flatbreads at Mama Melrose? Can you only get the 4 cheese (what is gorgonzola like?), or the pepperoni flatbreads or are there other choices? Is sausage available?

How is the gelato?

Hi
We ordered the 4 cheese flatbread and I think it would've been better without the gorgonzola. I think that was the cheese that was on it that we didn't really care for. I had the cheese flatbread before when it was served as an appetizer with the dining plan and it was really good. I'm not sure if you can get pepperoni. I think if we ordered the flatbread again, I would ask to see if they can leave that cheese off of it. Everone's tastes are different, and you might like it. Sorry, I don't know about the gelato, but the taramisu was really good.

DH had the gelato in September and he really liked it. I have had the flatcheese pizza bread the last three trips. I loved it the first two times, but wasn't as impressed this last time...I think it could have been cooked a little longer. I think part of it was we were all very tired and very hot (we'd been up since 4:00 that morning for our flight). I may skip it next year but I'll certainly have it again.

We enjoy the flatbreads at Mama Melroses. I usually have them do a custom for me. I like cheese, fresh tomatoes and fresh basil. They are always accomodating and make them just they way I like. Haven't had the gelato.

The flatbreads are my favorite item at MM. I have tried all of them. The grilled chicken with tomato pesto is great. The pepperoni one is good-the pepperoni is thicker and spicier than pepperoni from one of the chains. The tomato flatbread is good too-if you want to avoid a lot of sauce and heavy cheese. If you are not big into blue cheese-have them hold the gorgonzola on the cheese pizza. It has a distinct flavor that overtakes the other cheese flavors.

We had one in June, it was a slice tomato, cheese and pesto one....I really liked it

We ate there on Friday. I loved the chicken flatbread. It seemed small but it really was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it even with my husband trying a piece. My husband ate the Spumoni gelato and devoured it. He said it was wonderful.

We ate there Wednesday (15th) for lunch, group of 7 and we ordered the grilled chicken flatbread, the 4 cheese and asked if they would add pepperoni, and then the pepperoni without the onions and bell peppers and then we ordered the Artisan Bread and Spreads. Everything was great. I had the idea that you could pretty much order the flatbread however you wanted it. Our Waitress was fantastic. I have to say that during our 7 day stay this was the best meal we had.

Our table service meals were.
Kona (I really like this place, meal was great)
Cinderella's Gala Feast (pretty good)
Le Cellier (a must for every trip, meal was so so this trip)
Mama Melrose (Very good)
Liberty Tree (wonderful lunch)
Olivia's at Old Key West (pricey meal, not that great, service not great either)

Thanks for the responses guys! I will probably try the cheese one, minus the gorgonzola cheese! (Thanks for the heads up, that's what I thought I might hear, so glad I asked!) Oh, do they also have some type of sausage or just pepperoni?
