Is this covered on the dining plan?
Also, any idea what time your reservation needs to be for? How would you go about finding out if fantasmic is playing the day you have your res?

Yes, the pkg is covered on the dining plan, BUT you have to book your reservation through the special dining events online or call and book it AS a Fantasmic pkg. When you look online, you will see the dates F! is playing for that month and hence if you can book a pkg.

Yes, as pp said, you can use your DDP table credit for the Fantasmic package. A regular ADR at MM won't work, you have to book the Fantasmic dinner package (limited number of reservations available) to get the Fantasmic seating. They have lunch and early dinner ADRs, with the latest usually being 5:00 pm. All the ADRs I have seen are for 1 pm - 5 pm. You usually cannot book the package online and need to call WDW Dining to make this ADR. It requires a credit card guarantee, even when linking your DDP.

at Mama Melrose for 1 credit you get an appetizer and a pass for reserved seating for Fantasmic. It's because it's a package that you get the appetizer with the meal, too.

You have to look at the park schedule when Fantasmic is showing and then call Disney dining to try and book a Fantasmic package for those certain dates. Don't be choosy on dates if you have more than one offering for seeing Fantasmic. Brown Derby will be 2 credits and Hollywood and Vine is a buffet and is 1 credit. This make Mama Melrose a bargain in my book and we do this on every trip.

It's not easy to get a Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose and you have to put your credit card guarantee because of no-shows. You will be penalized if you don't show up and I believe there's a cancellation fee if you are within the 48 hour window. You still use a dining credit and you don't pay the package pricing.

The package is offered for lunch and early dinner and you seldom get much of a choice for options of times; unless, you really book early.

I agree with previous posters and found this out this weekend when booking my ADRs.

I scored a 5pm reservation at Mama's. However, it was not the Fantasmic Package. There were NO availabilities online for the package at any time on the date I needed.

I called the dining hotline, told her my date, and she had 1 time available for "dinner" at 3:50 pm, and a couple for lunch (12 and 12:50) that included the Fantasmic tickets.

They could not just add tickets to my current 5pm reservation. :confused3 But she was able to book us for lunch instead at 12pm which included the tickets (I had to put a CC on file to guarantee- nothing was charged to me or put on hold at my bank- just for the file in case we don't show because we are on DDP). She then cancelled the 5pm reservation.

The show is at 7pm and she stated it seats/stands about 10,000. We are going to be there President's day and I didn't want to take a chance on having to wait in line forever to be turned away.

This is also our first Disney trip... so if you don't see an open reservation online- make the call!!!

Is your ticket to Fantasmic included with the DDP-TS meal when you make this special reservation or is there no charge for seeing Fantasmic?

Well, you have to book the package specifically. But if you book the package it includes the seating voucher for Fantasmic. You can't just book a regular restaurant reservation and then throw in a seating voucher; you must have booked a Fantasmic package.

If you just want to go and see Fantasmic, there's no charge to see it, it's included with the park admission.

I don't think they ever book Fantasmic dinner packages past 5 PM.

Just got back from WDW and booked this package at Mama Melrose's. Few things that should be noted:

1. book as far in advance as possible
2. they were only taking reservations the 2 days we were at HS
3. enjoyed the restaurant, food, and service
4. Fantasmic package does not cost extra but you do have to book it specifically on DIS website
5. If Fantasmic is cancelled, be sure to go to Guest Relations THAT DAY to try and obtain alternative passes. The show was cancelled the night we had the package(rain) and we didn't go to guest rel till the next day and we got nothing, missed Fantasmic on this trip:sad2:

Good luck and hope you enjoy your stay!

4. The Fantasmic package DOES cost extra if you are not on the DDP. It is a fixed price that usually will cost more than dining OOP without the package for the same items selected from the menu.

You do not book anything on the DIS website. You have to book it on the WDW Dining website, or by calling the WDWDINE phone number.

5. Read the fine print. Disney will not guarantee that the performance will not be cancelled. And they will not guarantee a seat at any subsequent showing. They MAY give you a complementary pass for another showing, but they do not have to and frequently will not if the F. packages are sold out and they have only limited room in the reserved section.

4. my advice is geared towards the OP who asked about the DDP and the package but if you choose not to do DDP then you may be charged a fee, or you could just walk up to the show for free
5.Moral of this message- if you do not ask, you will not receive:thumbsup2

I was able to reserve a package with credit card guarantee at Mama Melrose.

We are on the DDP, and one of the posters stated that this package actually includes an appetizer. Can anyone confirm that is true?

Yes, so far it is true.

How much is the "Fantasmic Package" if you pay OOP? I am going to be one credit short for myself and DD, because the two of us are doing CRT and I am trying to figure out which meal would be the best to pay for.
