DOes anyone know when you book this if there is a special menu? I was told by a CM that you get a choice of app, entree and dessert and you are not limited on the menu. Thanks in advance.

In Dec. 2006, we were offered the regular menu. I'm sorry to say though that the entrees were not good at all. I had the penne alla vodka and Dh had the veal. The appetizers though, (we both had calamari) were excellent and the desserts (cheesecake and ice cream) were very good. Service was also excellent.

I think they are still doing the regular menu.

yup, we were there last week and we got our choice of appy, entree, and dessert. and i'd have to say that the entrees we got were delicious! i got the pork w/risotto, and my mom got the fire grilled shrimp pasta. loved our appys and desserts too. overall thumbs up for mama melrose for us (even though fantasmic got rained out!). :thumbsup2

our experience was the opposite. :rotfl: Good appetizers and desserts, but it was the entrees that were awesome.

OP, yeah...the limited menu was done away with last fall. I just posted on another thread - we love MM's atmosphere, service, and food, and will probably never do a trip without eating there. :thumbsup2

This is new to me. I assume that the fantasmic package includes good seats to the show?

you're almost right...it includes seats to the show. i thought they were fine, but that was my first time seeing fantasmic. others have said they are not good seats. they were off to the right side. i went on a very rainy night, so i think lots of people were scared away, so it wasn't that full. thank goodness it stopped raining about 15 minutes before the show!

I haven't seen Fantasmic either so I don't know where good seats would be. I heard that people get their seats super early and I don't want to sit forever waiting. Anyone else have something to add as to whether these are good seats or not?

Package seats are guarateed (up till 30 minutes before; then they can and sometimes are opened up to the general public) seats, NOT preferred seats. They are to the far right of the stage. The best seats, IMHO are in the center, about half way back. Right up front, you have a chance of getting a little wet! However, you can see the show from every angle. I just don't like sitting right up front, especially if it's a windy night (wet!).

With the package the waitress will still tell you to enter at around 45 minutes before the show to ensure you do get a seat. The package seats are also first come, first served. I enter at 45 minutes before with the package and either 1 hour before to 45 minutes before without the package.

I have done the package many times and have now gone to see the show without the package the last 3 times. I have never waited in a line nor have I waited any longer than an hour in my seat. I got great seats each time, in the center, half way back (without the package I mean). I've done the package the end of Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec and saw the show without the package the end of Aug, the end of Sept and the end of Oct with great results. One time when we did the package, I just walked in the regular entrance to see how crowded it was and ended up sitting in the center and saved my package voucher as a souvenir.

The package is only necessary at very busy times of the year or 'maybe' on an EMH night. If I'm not certain of how busy a time of year is or if there isn't a second showing, then yes, I'd book the package, otherwise, I'd take my chances and eat where I want to and see the show without the package and probably get better seats.

It has been a while since I did the package
Does anyone know if they accept the Dining experience card with the Fantasmic dinner package?

We ate there in late May for the FDP, and we were able to order from the regular menu. I think it changed early this year, and they did away with the special menu for FDP.

Ummmm, Is it possible to get in with your Fantasmic voucher and then just sit in a different section? For example...You have your dinner and head over to Fantasmic with your seating ticket...get your seat....wait for them to let everyone in and just get up and walk over to a more desirable location. ??? I have never done a Fantasmic dinner package so a clueless to if there is a wall or something keeping guest locked in one area.:confused3

Yes, you can. There is a rope and CMs there but you can just tell them what you are doing.

However, like I said in my previous post, once I just walked in the regular entrance and sat in the middle and just saved my package voucher as a souvenir.
