mama melrose fantasmic help?

hi all will be down in the world the first week in nov -- I originally booked us lunch at Hollywood and vine and dinner at sci - fi. after doing some reading and research I decided to cancel our Hollywood and vine reservation. (it seemed to get really bad reviews) so when I was looking for a replacement today I say mama Melrose had a fantasmic dining package available for 12:30! we have never eaten here -- but I don't remember reading to much bad about it? anyone have any reviews -- and if im reading it right, if you are on the dining plan, you get a appetizer with lunch? is that correct? so it is different then what you would get if you just booked it without the "fantasmic" part? what time do I need to show up for fantasmic if I have this "reserved seating area" asking because I think fantasmic is at 7 and we also have a sci-fi reservations for 520 -- although I doubt we will be hungry -- LOL -- thanks!!

Mama Melrose serves pretty decent Italian food. IMO, miles better than Tony's at MK. It is one TS credit on the DDP, or a fixed price if paying OOP. It includes an appetizer, entree and fountain drink that you select from the regular menu and a dessert sampler platter that is sized to the number of guests in your party. At the end of your meal you will get a voucher for the reserved seating section at F!. You need to be seated by 30 minutes before showtime. After that, if the show has reached capacity, they will open the dining and FP sections to standby guests.

We did Mama Melrose's Fantasmic meal last Friday and everyone liked their food.
I am not a fan of Italian food at all so I ordered the steak and it was delicious. We did get appetizers and dessert.

When I was there last we did the Mama Melrose Fantasmic reservation. Food was great, and yes, it even came with an appetizer and dessert. Our only issue we had there was with an impatient waiter who was practically yelling at us trying to explain how our DDP worked, we were Disney newbies.. first day, first reservation, and something had us a little confused.. refused to let him ruin our magical day, although he came close! We wound up getting to Fantasmic just on time and seats were full in the section already so a CM found us seats in a different section and we wound up being front row... awesome experience!

WE like Mama Melrose. WE just had lunch there in August as part of teh Fantasmic Dining Package and everyone but my son liked the meal. His was pork something,ad he just did not care for it, nothing wrong, just not something he liked. The only thing I am not a fan f is that preplated dessert thing.

We looooooooove Mama Melrose's - we feel like it's the most under-rated restaurant at Disney! Love the steak - and the cheesecake on the dessert platter.

Mama Melrose's is our go-to place for a TS lunch at HS. Good options, great food.

we also had the steak for dinner ...with the mac and cheese and I opted for a salad, my husband and our son got the mussels..and our daughter in law had the seafood pasta dish...and our two grandkids had spaghetti and meatballs and salad and also a meatball cupcake...it looked like spaghetti and a meatball..it was adorable...we liked the desserts that we shared...very good place for fantasmic pkg

We did it in 2013 for lunch. I though it was pretty good. Would do it again.

We went this past Sunday to Mama Melrose & had the Fantasmic dining package.

You get an appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert. The dessert is the sampler with 3 different desserts. Each person at our table received one. I did have a choice of dessert because I am allergic to gluten & peanuts so they offered me gluten & nut free chocolate cake or cheesecake. I had the fish of the day (grouper) with vegetables, mom had the spaghetti & meatballs, and my dad had the steak & macaroni. All the dishes were delicious! They served breadsticks to my parents with our appetizers and some olive oil for dipping. I even received some gluten free rolls. Yum! They gave us 3 vouchers for Fantasmic with our bill.

Fantasmic began at 8 and we showed up at 7:35 (the voucher said return time was 7:25-7:45). We followed the FP+ line and once we reached the seats, we showed them our ticket at the Scar section and they let us in. Seating is in the Scar & 1st Mickey section (the center seats). It was great showing up 25 minutes before the show & having great seats!
