This may be a silly question....but are the malls open in Orlando on Sunday?

OF COURSE, How could they not be? It's one of the busiest days of the week for malls!!!

Yes the certainly are :thumbsup2

Florida Mall is open 12 - 6pm and Premium Outlet Mall from 10am - 9pm.

Happy shopping :yay:

The only reason I ask....some parts of Canada still forbid malls being open on Sunday. Silly I know...but it is a reality. Also which mall would have outlet type stores where you can save a lot of money on Disney and Universal souveniers and the like?

Well, the outlets would probably be your best bet; Mall at Millenia is the only actual mall we go to, but it's more upscale. It was closed on Easter Sunday, which surprised us.

Cheers!

So where exactly would I find the outlet stores. We will be coming from Universals Royal Pacific Hotel.

Here's a couple of links for the outlet malls in the area.I suggest the Orlando Premium Outlets,it's the nicest in my opinion, but you might find what you're looking for in the others.I think parts of the Prime Outlets are under construction,at least that's what it looks like from I-4,I'm not sure what they are doing, hopefully remodeling the buildings as the last time I went there they were really old inside!!

Just wanted to correct something that Brooker commented on. Sunday shopping is alive and well in all provinces in Canada :goodvibes . Nova Scotia was the only province that didn't allow it, but as of December 2006, it is now a reality in that province.

Prince Edward Island is still kinda iffy on the subject.... see below:

...But when Sunday shopping rules crumbled in Nova Scotia in October, the tourism industry called for the rules to be relaxed.

"My government will introduce legislative changes to increase the competitiveness of Island merchants and tourism operators,"Lt.-Gov Barbara Hagerman read on behalf of Premier Pat Binns and his Progressive Conservative government.

"To that end, the Retail Business Holidays Act will be amended to allow Sunday shopping on Prince Edward Island starting on the third week of May and continuing until Dec. 31."

The government intends to review the Sunday shopping situation after one year.

Which probably leaves only Paramus, NJ as the one spot in North America where you can't shop on Sunday. (I used to live in a neighboring town. ;) )

I had to open the thread because I figured that's where the OP was from. I didn't know that there had been parts of Canada where blue laws were still alive and well.

I try to avoid the malls at weekends. They're a much more pleasurable experience on weekdays.

Actually thanks for that...for some reason I was thinking Nova Scotia had allowed it and then stopped it again.

They are in fact remodeling the Prime Outlets and plan to combine what used to be two separate mall buildings into one building. It should be very nice when finished. I prefer Orlando Premium Outlets, and they do have a Universal and a Disney outlet store there.
