We are going to the mall of America in Minn. this weekend and havent been their for a couple of years so what advice/tips do you have for usto make it a more enjoyable getaway???

Don't wear a shirt with a peace sign

One thing you dont have to worry about is me wearing a Peace shirt!!! Now maybe a Bomb Iraq shirt that i own from desert storm, but no peace shirt, hell no!!!

Get online and look at the directory and pic the stores that you absolutely cannot live without going to. Since you are only going to be there a day that's the best strategy. Map out where you want to go and the places you don't want to go - just window shop briskly!!! :D:D:D:D It's a big place...

Oh and would you stop by the Garlic Shoppe and ship me some Mesquite Seasoning....I'm not going to make it through the summer with what I have and we aren't going to make it up there before Thanksgiving....thanks!!! ;) ;) ;) ;) :D:D:D:D:D Oh wait - I'll probably be in Milwaukee next weekend so I can just stop by your house and pick it up (I'm sure your family would really appreciate this!!!! ROFL)

We paln on being there for one full day (kids will want to ride rides at camp snoppy) and also part of two other days.
We have looked at the directory and other brochures but im looking for first hand experience rather than advertising.

Bob O,

Take your tennis shoes!!!!!(ROFL):) We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Presidents Day weekend and even though it was crowded it wasn't to bad. We got there as soon as Camp Snoppy opened and let the kids ride some rides then we went shopping. We had a lot of shopping to do for our spring break cruise.:Pinkbounc I don't know how old your kids are but my DD (6yo) loves Kids Quest. She does not like to walk around shopping so we put her in there while we shop. It makes for a more peaceful and easier shopping experience. Also, if you are into nice resturants and maybe want to put the kids in Kids Quest we love the Napa Valley Grille. We do not have an abundance of nice resturants where we live so we have to take advantage when we travel. Have a great trip.

One piece of advice, do Camp Snoopy right away, just like Disney it will get more crowded as the day goes on. Can't really think of any other advice, we live here, so we tend to just stroll around until we see something interesting.

Well...that's what I tend to do Bob - I look and see where I might want to go and then map out my plan from there. Now if you want to walk the mall and see all the shops, my advice would be to start on the top floor and work your way down. That's what we tend to do also and believe it or not, we have made it through almost all of the mall, stopping at a few stores, in half a day.

I would do the Camp Snoopy thing on the first day - it's pretty cool and fun for the kids and can be enjoyable for the adults. Then take the other two days to do the mall part in case the kids get tired and bored on the first day.

There is a restaurant that I wish I could remember what food court it's in, that has the best fried cheese.

Oh and Bob - psssst....THERE IS NO TAX ON CLOTHING SO SHOP TIL YA DROP!!!!! :)

Thanks for the info, and we like no taxes on clothes in MN!!!!

Sorry to say, the Minnesota Picnic with it's cheese curds is gone! Because the MOA is 10 years old now, they are doing a lot of remodling, so many stores are changing locations and updating their decor. Also, many of the smaller shops have closed since 9/11/01

When did Minnesota Picnic go under? We were just out there in January and it was there.

Bob,

If you can, try the Naskar driving experience. It was a blast.

I agree on going to camp snoopy in the morning. We got the day passes (bring your AAA card and get a discount) and DD had a blast on the rides. Get there before it opens, and go to the Betty Crocker bakery and get some warmed donut holes for walking around with. There are some carnival type games, so bring some cash to play those, they are fun too.

Have fun!

My tip? DON'T GO!!! Sorry, I'm just not into that much shopping.:p We do manage to go about once every year or so so that they kids can ride stuff in Camp Snoopy. I hear Underwater World is supposed to be kind of cool. I haven't seen it yet but I think we'll give it a try next time we go.
The NASCAR thing is cool too.
Have a good time!
