I loved Maleficent but understand how it was flawed. Now they could tell a proper story that stands on its own, so it might be better then the first movie!

I really liked Maleficient even though I'm not a big AJ fan. I'll have to see the next one too.

I enjoyed the movie & the way the back story brought us to the original fairy tale. I guess I need to watch it again because I just don't see what story is there to create a 2nd movie. It will be interesting to see how quickly the trailers for #2 arrive in theaters now that it is official.

Really liked the movie and thought it was well cast. Jolie has not officially signed on for the second movie, so we have to wait and see. I hope that they can get her back for the sake of story continuity. Also interested in seeing where they take the story.

Yeah, I read that and am encouraged by it, but bad scripts have been the cause of her walking away from a few movies in the past. IMO, if she signs on for a sequel we will have a great indication that the movie will be pretty good.

The movie was 'meh' to me - a letdown, I suppose. I am a huge fan of remade fairy tales and this just didn't jive with me. She is a fantastic actress however, and I bet that the sequel will rake in a decent amount of money at the least.

Interesting - I'm almost the exact opposite. I thought the movie was made well. My daughter loved it. But I didn't like how they messed with the original animated movie's story. I'm all for finding out how Maleficent came to be the way she did. But that was way too much "creative liberties" IMO. I, too, am really curious as to what the sequel's storyline would actually be.

I would love a completely new story centered all around Maleficent without any other distractions from her character. I liked the first movie, but it was kind of a 50-50 Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty movie.

My kids loved that movie, they'll be excited for a second one! As for me, the movie kept me entertained and that's all I can ask.
