during 19 facial surgerys and associated hospital stays, i had more nurses than i care to remember,, my favorite floor nurse was a male, he was the most caring, best bedside mannor etc,, he even threatened to fire a nurse that left my iv alarm going for more than 5 minutes.
my favorite surgical prep was an old lady that was typical grandma personna, she was thee best ever at installing surcical ivs,, she could hit a vien in a brick wall.

After working with male physicians for almost twenty years, and this is my personal generalized findings, I feel that a lot of them can be condescending to women. I find that female physicians are more compassionate. I find the total opposite with nurses, though. The male nurses that i know have more compassion, and skill, in their pinky that most female nurses have in their entire bodies (me included
)
At one point I told I don`t feel well I think I am going to throw up. She told me to hold it.
The only problem he kept calling my Dh the wrong name.
