Male and Female Disneyland Lovers

Looking around the forums and around Disneyland Resort and i notice that Disney transcends gender. Its a decent mix of male and female. Although when you think Disney you may think princesses and therefore a predominantly female audience. Hit the pole above and participate in my experiment.

I think there are lots of guys who love Disney, but I suspect there are more women on the board than men so the poll may not reflect a true perspective. I agree with you that love of Disney certainly seems to transcend gender from what I've seen!

My husband loves Disney, not as fanatically as me, but he enjoys all our trips there. He just doesn't post on Disney forums.

I'm a male Disney fan (AP holder, DVC owner, runDisney Marathons, Gold Disney Cruise Castaway Club Member, etc) and single. I visit Disneyland and DCA every other week sometimes more depending on what is going on. I'm pretty quite around people about being a Disney fan only because sometimes I get that eye roll from other adults who don't get it. I usually don't start the conversations about Disney but if someone brings it up I usually chime in.

Disney is about so much more than princesses. While that emphasis has grown in recent years, based on demand, I think it still is not the main point. At bottom, the Disney company and parks were founded on the premise of storytelling. And storytelling is gender neutral. From the foundation of storytelling grows romance, adventure, imagination, fantasy, powers of good and evil, heroism and celebration. Love, joy, hope, fear and sadness. The powerful themes draw families and friends together and thus the parks become a venue for families to "get away from the real world" and be transported together to some other realm.

I have always viewed this particular DLR forum on DIS to be more represented by the ladies. There are other DLR forums out there that have a more definite participation (and tone) by the guys. So I do not think a poll on this forum will be very representative. But by all means let's see how it turns out!
