Disney is about so much more than princesses. While that emphasis has grown in recent years, based on demand, I think it still is not the main point. At bottom, the Disney company and parks were founded on the premise of
storytelling. And storytelling is gender neutral. From the foundation of storytelling grows romance, adventure, imagination, fantasy, powers of good and evil, heroism and celebration. Love, joy, hope, fear and sadness. The powerful themes draw families and friends together and thus the parks become a venue for families to "get away from the real world" and be transported together to some other realm.
I have always viewed this particular DLR forum on DIS to be more represented by the ladies. There are other DLR forums out there that have a more definite participation (and tone) by the guys. So I do not think a poll on this forum will be very representative. But by all means let's see how it turns out!
