I was just reading some info on the internet about a problem that many people have after getting off a cruise ship. It's called Mal de Debarquement Syndrome, and mostly affects women ages 40-60 yrs. old. I know that I have read some posts from women who have had this happen, unexplained dizziness after their cruise, sometimes lasting for months!! One suggestion that was made to avoid this syndrome was to wear the "ear patch" the entire time you are on the ship, and for a couple of days after (check with you Dr.). Also, some people felt that taking antihistamine or prescription allergy meds after disembarking helped alot. I had this happen, but it went away after 3 days (it was a miserable 3 days!). Just thought I would pass along those tips to see if they help anyone. Sue

I too had this happen to me but only about 7 days (and you're right about it being miserable!). It did not happen after our 7 day Disney cruise but did after a 7 day cruise on a different line. Maybe Disney's stabilizers helped?

Well, I'm not a woman, and I'm not aged 40-60, but I did notice that my house was "moving" for a day or so after we got off the boat.
