My friend is getting married and she wants to make her own bride and groom mouse ears. Has anybody did this? How did you attach the ears to the hats?

Thanks.

Got to say, it is probably cheaper to go with the professionals on this. Buy them the ears as and engagement gift!

The real ears are very cute! There is very little one can do to improve them. :) So, I agree about getting them some ears for a present. Try ebay! :thumbsup2

Sorry I can't help you out but the other posters are right...the real ears are probably cheaper and they are really cute. Try ebay for them!

I didn't make DH's ears ('cause I couldn't find a "cheap" top hat, the ready made ones were cheaper), but I made my own.

I used the extra thick craft foam (available at lots of craft shops, I found it at Joann's). It's about 1/4" thick. I had an old pair of ears that I traced for the shape (or you can try printing a template) and then cut them out. The edges were a bit rough, but I covered them with a fancy 1/4" ribbon. I just hot glued them to a headband for myself.

I think you could probably hot glue them to just about anything. I was going to make bride/groom baseball caps with ears, but I really don't like to wear hats.

To be honest, I don't think anyone noticed that I had made my own ears, they looked pretty darn good!

The ears cost about $16 each at the parks...I made mine for less than that (less than $10). You could spend more and get higher quality (especially if you use nice baseball caps).

A friend who got married last month, and DH2b made their own top hat mickey ears, because the ones disney sells were too small for them.

They bought the mickey graduation caps, the kind with the mortar board. Took that all apart to get to the ears. The ears were perfect for being able to attach to the top hat. They found top hats that fit, and then used magnet bars to attach the ears. It worked out perfectly! The magnets are well hidden and they didn't ruin the top hat, because they can take the ears off with no mess.
