Making window clings?

Hi!
My mom is really into making window clings. She needs some type of clear paper(?) to the clings in their "off season." Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Would freezer paper work? It has one slick side if I remember right.

What about overhead transparencies? They are pretty cheap in a box from an office supply place and should work well.
