Hey Everyone, I'm very new to this part of the board but I need to start writing on here more and finding out more.

Just on Friday, I returned from Walt Disney World. I've been visiting the world for many years now and its been a part of my life for quite a while. It's been a dream for me to do the DCP or the DIP for a long time, but this years trip gave me the push to really get motivated and find out some more information and possibly apply for next year.

I watched the DIS Unplugged Podcast- Disney College Program & Frump Style - 08/06/13, which offered a lot of help, but I've got so many more questions. Are there any people who have undertaken the programme, that might be able to help me out? I've managed to reach out to Jess so far! :)

Coming from the UK is being very daunting but This is something I really want to push! :) I officially finish University Next year ! :) so I've got plenty of time to decide :)

Any posts in reply to this would be amazing!

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

I am 20 years old and I am also looking at doing the Disney ICP next year :) It's nice to hear from someone in the same situation as me as I am very worried about being so far from my home and family here in the UK for so long, but at the same time I can't help but look forward to the college programme and wonder what it would be like to be there doing it :) I have already applied but I have heard nothing so far :/ Im guessing it takes a few weeks or so for them to read applications and sort things out, but I applied when the applications opened on the 1st August :) Have you applied yet or just trying to find out some more info? Ive read Jess' thread (It's very long so only got about half way) but it helped me make my decision and I am determined more than ever to go through with it and go to the ICP :) It's just daunting, being so far away as I am in a family of 7 people and its for such a long time. :s

If anyone could tell Jamie and I any more that would be great :) I'm just wondering how long to wait before hearing from Disney after your application? and how long is the ICP for? I applied for the Cultural Exchange Programme, but I keep hearing different things about the length of the programme. Some say it is for 2 and a half months, some say its 5 :s

Thanks guys

Melissa

This website and associated forum should help you both! There's lots of friendly people from the UK on the forums :)

This guy's blog is pretty useful too.

The Cultural Representative Program lasts for 12 months, and I think with the Cultural Exchange program you can go from 2 months up to 12 months.

Hayley from the UK documented her application process for the 2 month program: parts one, two, three and four.

Otherwise I'd recommend Googling "Disney Cultural Exchange blog" and any variations of that. Reading people's stories is how I learned heaps (I'm from Aus otherwise I'd link you to all of the blogs I read).

Good luck!

Jamie and Melissa,

I'm currently on the program and have two ICP roommates, so if either of you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, and I will ask them and get back to you!

Hey guys,
I did the ICP last year and currently in the process of applying again for next summer.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have! :)
