Making the ADR list, Changing it Multiple Times A DxDP PTR updtd 5/27

Day 2 & 3 both sound really good! I would like to try Fulton's one day. I hear a lot of good things about Boma but I'm not sure if my family would enjoy the food. I need to research that menu more.

I can't believe that in all of your food enriched trips, you still haven't tried CG! We are going for our second time in August and can't wait. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

your day 3sounds great ice cream for lunch:thumbsup2

Yes--when in Disney. . .ice cream and cupcakes for meals is entirely acceptable.

I haven't done the dinner, but the breakfast has enough "normal" stuff on it for it to be okay for my less than adventurous eater.

Me, too! Thanks! I don't know why I haven't done it before now!

June 4
Breakfast: Kusafiri Bakery
Lunch: AK Rainforest Cafe (new here, but have done Rainforest Cafe in Maryland before)
Dinner: Cape May Cafe (Sweetie's favorite)

The morning of June 4 will find us in Animal Kingdom. This means one thing--after having a small breakfast at the resort, we will likely by visiting here for a take away snack:

Since I first saw the different coffees there, I became excited. I have, however, discovered my favorite coffee location now has items on the DDP (Anandapur), so this may be replaced with my favorite.

Lunch that day will be at

We've done Rainforest Cafe before--in Maryland. I've seen the reviews on this place.

Here's the scoop--this is the ADR most likely to be canned after our arrival, followed by Boma (thinking I may just wanna sleep in). Either way, it's on the "maybe list" and perhaps I will make this one. Perhaps I'll just cancel it. Let's see how I feel by June 4.

One place that will not be canceled, however is

This is Sweetie's favorite place in Disney, and living near Myrtle Beach, I can verify it is similar to the all you can eat buffets there. The kids love it there, as evidenced by our most recent trip there:

They love drawing on the tables.

The big issue with Cape May is that we tend to eat too much there. For some reason, I can eat my weight (at my heaviest) in seafood. This is a good argument for forgetting Rainforest Cafe and just having breakfast that morning at Pepper Market, but we will see where this leads us!

Looking forward to your reviews - I'm quite interested in seeing how Fulton's is now (especially compared to other seafood restaurants like Narcoossee's or Cape May) - we haven't been to Fulton's in years. :)

I'm really looking forward to that one--it seems like the perfect match for us.

I'm hoping for the best with Narcoossee's. I've seen some bad reviews lately that had me second guessing that one. But it's the only signature on my list I've done before, and I want to have something I've done before.

Cape May probably should be sooner in the trip, because I worry that it won't be as good as we remember having the two signatures prior, but it fits better with the touring like this, and of course, we do plan to tour the parks at some point, lol!

I really can't comment on Fulton's - I was ordering from the kids menu the last time I went there. :rotfl: But it was really good! Hopefully the shellfish dishes are awesome.

And I've actually seen lots of positive Narcoossee's reviews lately - it sounds like there's a new executive chef and a lot of the food is more creative and upscale than before. I'm looking forward to returning there soon (in spite of our disappointing meal there last summer). :)

Good luck with Cape May! It might not be as good as Narcoossee's for Fulton's (the last time we had dinner at Cape May was in 2002, and we didn't love it) but I'm sure it'll still be a good meal! I've actually wanted to return there as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing your feedback on it.

Your trip sounds like it'll be great! I also change my mind...change it back...then change it again!
I'm excited Fulton's is on the dining plan now. We haven't gone in several years due to the cost (& we had DxDP last year) but I'll be sure to go this year!!

I'm glad to see there have been positive Narcoossee's reviews. Some of the ones dealing with chewy lobster, though I always tended to think they were expecting the same texture as crab and it is not really.

You roped me into a Yachtsman ressie by the way. I hope I'm thanking you in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, it's getting late for changes now, but I still seem to be making them, lol!

June 5
Breakfast: Starring Rolls Cafe
Lunch: Boardwalk Pizza Window (oop)
Dinner: Yachtsman

We have a new tradition at Hollywood Studios that seems to work for us:

1. Ride TSM standby
2. Get FPs for RnR
3. Ride ToT
4. Get cupcakes for breakfast at Starring Rolls

Yep. In that order. And who could say no to these?

My favorite--the Red Velvet cupcake

I know that's cupcakes for breakfast. Don't judge. :rotfl:

We really have not decided on lunch that day. Even though it says the pizza window, we may hit up Beaches and Cream. We just don't know. I might even get us to Epcot for lunch. Like I said. I don't know, and I'm not going to push that one.

Dinner is at a location that honestly makes me wonder what I'm thinking. To understand why, let me remind my readers of a meal that still troubles me to this day:

After an eh breakfast and lunch, I had 8:30 reservations at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

IMG_0077.jpg

By the time dinner had rolled around, I was starving. I drove over to the Yacht Club, knowing where it was, and decided to tour the resort for a while first. I enjoyed my trip, especially listening to carollers in the lobby at the Beach Club (I walked over there), and reported for my adr at 8:00pm so I could sit down for a while. It had been a long day.

I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

For 45 minutes past my ADR time. Yes, I was seated at 9:15pm. By that time, I was not hungry anymore. I was tired and just wanted to get through dinner. I ordered my app quickly. I had:

Lobster Bisque - Maine Lobster and Creme Fraiche finished with Brandy $9.00 (courtesy allears website)

IMG_0079.jpg

Oh, my, goodness. This was heavenly. I could have meade a meal out of this and the bread.

IMG_0080.jpg

But no, my entre was this:

Yachtsman Filet Mignon - 8-ounce Filet with Mashed Potatoes and a Red Wine Sauce $39.00

IMG_0081.jpg

THe mashed potatoes were wonderful. The filet was tender. But it was NOT cooked to order. I asked for medium. I got well done. I was so tired, I did not want to even wait for another entre, so I ate it. And got my dessert to go.

Mango Cheesecake --with raspberry foam and artisan ganache $8.00

IMG_0082.jpg

I did eat the cheesecake for breakfast a couple of days later, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I think the extreme wait, the fact that I was so tired, and my filet not being cooked correctly made my experience at Yachtsman less than magical. I'll try it again someday, but not anytime soon.

Overall:
Atmosphere: 5 out of 5
Service: 3 out of 5 I sat with an empty drink glass for a long time
Wait Time: 0 out of 5 Waiting 45 min after the adr time is not acceptable in my book. Others who waited that long reported to me later they were at least compensated in some way. I did not want compensation--I wanted and apology. I did not get one.
Food Quality: 3.5 out of 5 Thos would have been a 5 if my filet had been cooked properly.
Overall: 2.3 out of 5

I'm sorry to all of those who love the Yachtsman who loved it. I did not. Perhaps under different circumstances I would have, but that is a moot point now.

So, it's with a little trepidation that I go to Yachtsman. But I have a steak lover with me. I worry about the aged beef, and how much she will enjoy that. I also worry we will be sitting there hours waiting for a reservation time to come up.

What's not in that review was my server was also horrendous. She was perfectly lovely to a family that was there who was apparently a regular of hers. But for me, she didn't seem to want to waste her time. I wonder if it was because I was by myself.

Either way, I'm going to try it again, and we'll either have a lovely meal. . .

or crash and burn. :rotfl:

That sounds like a good plan. DO you get your fast pass for RnR before you get on TSM line??? Trying to figure out our plans as well. I will have my DD17 walk ahead of my 52 year old legs ( with pulled stomach/back muscle, pray for healing within the next two weeks)and have her make a Beeline to the FP kiosk

No--we go straight for TSM, because every minute counts. That typically has us pulling a FP at RnR for around noon, but it works. Usually we stay at HS until around noon and then get out of dodge.

Sounds like a good plan for DHS! :thumbsup2 I really want to try one of those cupcakes at Starring Rolls this year!

I hope you have better look this time at Yachtsman. *fingers crossed*

I might have to convince DH to get one of those cupcakes this time around (yeah, I'm sure I'll totally have to twist his arm...) because I'd love to try one but I can't pass up on my beloved carrot cake cookie!

I hope you have a better experience at Yachtsman this time. DH and I just added it to our ADR's for our September trip - we've gone the past three trips and always had a great meal, but originally wanted to try something new this trip. After a few days, though, I felt a tug at my heartstrings and knew we had to go back. ;)

I wasn't aware that Narcoossee's had been getting poor reviews as of late - but then, I hadn't been to the boards since our last trip and that was 1 1/2 yrs ago. Glad to hear it's turning around, since that's always one of our favorites.

Those cupcakes are fabulous!

I hope I have better luck there, as well.

Try Narcoossee's again.

So, I cancelled some. Namely, Yachtsman and Fulton's. I was excited about them, but for one, Fulton's is a distance, and the plan was to go there after I had spent half the day at Typhoon Lagoon? Nah. I think sticking around the resort that afternoon sounds better. And I just couldn't do Yachtsman. I don't know that I will ever go back there. It's a shame. People love it there, but I just can't bring myself to do it. So this is the current line up:

Current ADRs

May 31, Travel Day
Breakfast: Chick-fil-et in Florence, SC
Lunch: McDonalds, probably around Savannah, GA
Dinner: Landscapes in Art of Animation oop

June 1, move to Coronado from POP
Breakfast: Everything POP! oop
Lunch: Cinderella's Royal Table (new)
Dinner: Narcoosee's (new to Sweetie)

June 2
Breakfast: Sunshine Seasons
Lunch: Le Cellier (an oldie, but goodie)
Dinner: Maya Grill (new)

June 3
Breakfast: Boma (new for Sweetie)
Lunch: Cooling Hut (split 1 CS for lunch)
Dinner: California Grill (new to both of us)

June 4
Breakfast: Kusafiri Bakery
Lunch: Restaurantosaurus; Flame Tree BBQ
Dinner: Cape May Cafe (Sweetie's favorite)

June 5
Breakfast: Starring Rolls Cafe
Lunch: 50's Prime Time Cafe (new)
Dinner: Captain's Grill

June 6
Breakfast: Cafe Rix
Lunch: Crystal Palace (late breakfast reservation)
Dinner: Tutto Italia

Breakfast that morning will be at Cafe Rix. We'll use some of our last snack credits before heading over for our Puffed French toast.

I mean, last morning at Magic Kingdom.

Dinner that night will be at Tutto Italia. Tutto is a favorite of ours, but we did not go this past year. It's also one that may go to the wayside by the end, but for right now, it's staying put. We do plan to spend some time at Epcot in the World Showcase that afternoon, so it is a good fit for the day's plans.

Some others that we have added along the way:

Maya Grill--we're doing this because we are staying at CSR. The day after this one is going to be a long one, so we wanted to have some rest instead of running all the way back to Downtown Disney.

50s Prime Time Cafe--This is a never done that I am really looking forward to. I hope I can eat everything on my plate, but if not, I'll just stick my elbows on the table and thumb my nose as the server.

Captain's Grill--this is the alternate to Yachtsman, and frankly, in my opinion, a much better meal. We've never been disappointed here, and that's my reason for choosing it.

We leave on Thursday and I am so excited. I said on the CSR thread that I can't sleep. I know I need to sleep, but I just can't!

Three more days!!!!

Your trip is almost here! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Your plans look fantastic! I can't wait to hear all about it! Do you plan on doing a TR when you return?

I'm selfishly disappointed about the Yachtsman change. I understand why you don't want to return, but I was sooo looking forward to another review and more ideas about what to order. Enjoy Captain's Grill!

And YAY!!! Only a few days more...

Have a great Trip I know you'll have a great time. Enjoy safe travels. Line up looks great pixiedust:

Thanks, Hallie!

I will be doing a TR. It'll be mostly pictures, though.

I'm sorry. Just couldn't do it. Now, Captain's Grill has never once disappointed me, and I thought my last full night at Disney should be one where disappointment was almost sure not to happen.
