Making the ADR list, Changing it Multiple Times A DxDP PTR updtd 5/27

I am so in! As one who is constantly changing her plans...through no fault of her own :rotfl:....I am very interested to see what stays and what goes!

Definitely following along! My DD 13 and I will be doing a mother/daughter trip in August so I'm especially interested in your mother/daughter adventure. I think we have our ADRs all set but I'm open to suggestions! :lmao:

I am looking forward to this trip because it's a good idea for my daughter before she goes through all that she's going to go through in high school to spend time with her mother.

And I've had a long school year.

Quelle Suprise, the first day had another change.

Earlier this week, I was having a conversation with Sweetie,

ME: Is there anything you'd like?

SWEETIE: What about a meal in the castle?

Well, knowing her picky ways, I knew she would not want lunch. Dinners were really hard to get, too, and I didn't know which dinner could find a trip out the door. So I looked for the Holy Grail of all reservations: breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. I knew I did not want a reservation for early in the morning, as my first visit seems to mean I have to see the rope drop ceremony. Getting pictures on an empty Main Street really don't matter to me, as I love seeing Main Street USA with all of the people. To me, that's Disney. Anything less is a scary scene from Kingdom Keepers to me.

Anywho, I logged onto the system and found a 10:40 am reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table on our arrival day.

Thank goodness for people who decide not to go 45 days out and have to cancel reservations!

Yes, breakfast here:

Hello my breakfast friends!

And of course, we have dinner at Narcoossee's. Which leads me to my December 2009 trip to Disney and my one visit ever to Narcoossee's:

So, for dinner on the 4th night, I was heading out to:

I had never been here before, but really wanted to try this one. My reservations were at 6:55pm. I checked in at 6:30 and was seated at 6:40.

My server was Tom, who was awesome. He was super funny, kept my drink filled, and was attentive, but not so attentive he was annoying. I was never left waiting for anything from the kitchen or the bar.

For my appetizer, I had: Crab Cakes - Southern Slaw and Cajun Remoulade sauce $13

DSC_0091.jpg

These up to this date, were the best crab cakes ever. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, and wonderfully flavorful. The slaw and remoulade gave them a kick that made me wishing this was not just an appetizer.

With my coke, I also had the Narcoossee's lemonade

This was delicious. Not too sweet, just the right amount of alcohol.

My entre was the Grilled Filet Mignon - potato gratin, broccolini and choron sauce $41.

I had thought of the lobster here, but I really wanted a better Disney filet than the one I got at Yachtsman.

I got it! It was cooked perfectly, the potatoes and beans (not broccolini as in the allears description) were a perfect accompaniment, and I ate every bite.

Finally for dessert I had Almond-crusted Cheesecake - with lambert cherry sauce $8 which was with a blueberry sauce, unlike the allears description.

This was heavenly! I enjoyed the 1/4 I ate, but I was so full, I couldn't eat it all. I wish I had boxed it--it would have been fine in my backpack at the park because it ended up being frigid beyond belief that night!

Narcoossee's wins the new award for my favorite restaurant on Disney property, replacing another Grand Floridian location: the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Overall:
Atmosphere: 5 out of 5--I was seated looking out at the castle. It was simply beautiful!
Service: 6 out of 5--I will ask for Tom again in June!
Wait Time: 5 out of 5
Food Quality: 10 out of 5 (Can I do that? Well, I guess I did, lol)
Overall: 6.5 out of 5

I am so looking forward to that first day--to me, it looks like the perfect way to start a Disney trip!

What a nice change! So glad you were able to get a breakfast ADR for CRT! :thumbsup2

I'd love to try Narcoossee's one day. I've heard so many wonderful things about the crab cakes there. YUMMY! :goodvibes

As good as the crabcakes are at Narcoossee's, they don't hold a candle to the ones at Flying Fish!

I have just filed that piece of information into my Disney file for future reference. I love, love, love a good crab cake! :cloud9:

I am so in!! I LOVE to make and then second guess and replan my dining :thumbsup2

That puffed french toast - it's the whole reason to go to the Crystal Palace - and the reason we've never done a meal there other than breakfast. Divine!!

I am doing deluxe for the first time in October and I can't wait.

Looking forward to seeing what you eventually settle upon.

OH, and we'll be there at the same time - May 24 - June 5

I daresay that I'll have you talked into Flying Fish before I'm finished.

We've had lunch and dinner at Crystal Palace. I like dinner, but not lunch so much. If I had to make a reservation somewhere else right now, it would certainly be a CP dinner, though. The food is better than Chef Mickey's but it seems more hectic than breakfast.

Have fun with all of that in October. It's especially fun having DxDP with the food and wine festival because you can use those snack credits at the food booths in Epcot.

Where are you staying in May/June?

We are staying at POR - in a royal room - very excited to check them out - and then really excited about October as we are staying at the Art of Animation!

You have a great lineup and are eating at some of my favorites!

Day 2 of Disney's culinary delights, we have:

June 2
Breakfast: Sunshine Seasons
Lunch: Le Cellier (an oldie, but goodie)
Dinner: Fulton's Crab House (new)

First of all, Sunshine Seasons. We love this place. Of all of the different locations around the World showcase, we still come back to Future World to Sunshine Seasons. This is the one place in Disney where the exotic meets the common American fare. Where I can get sushi while Sweetie gets pork chops. And the view coming in is just beautiful!

June_06_2011_478.jpg

Our trip here will be for breakfast using snack credits, so most likely we'll be getting some sort of pastry while I find some type of halfway decent coffee. My guess is I will be running to the Java Bar at the Swan instead of counting on Disney to do coffee right unless I just buy coffee at WalMart and brew it in the room.

Lunch this day will be at

June_12_2011_00002741.jpg

Sweetie loves the steak, and the famous chocolate moose dessert:

June_12_2011_00002738.jpg

I'm a little concerned about this decision. The last time we were there, our steaks were a bit salty. Plus, the cheese soup is heavy on the stomach. We're going to still give it another chance.

Dinner that night is at Fulton's. This is a place we have never been to before, but since it was added to the dining plan, we knew it was a must do. We love seafood, and really wanted to try better than Cape May. I hope the fact that Cape May is later in the week doesn't make us dislike the clam bake later. You really can't compare a seafood buffet with a place that cooks to order.

Anywho, that's day 2.

Good luck with the coffee. I can't wait to hear about Fultons. I am not a cape May clambake type so didn't ever return. Enjoy your great day 2. It sounds great,

I think other than California Grill, I'm the most excited about the Fulton's ADR!

I'll admit--I'm most excited about Day 3:

June 3
Breakfast: Boma (new for Sweetie)
Lunch: Cooling Hut (ice cream for lunch)
Dinner: California Grill (new to both of us)

Boma is a excellent place. In December 2009, I had breakfast there and I proclaimed it then the best breakfast at Disney. I still believe that.

I don't know why I feel that way. I do remember that trip, I had a terrible dinner two nights in a row--one at Yachtsman and another one where I was never even called to a table at Chefs de France after waiting forever, so Boma had to be a welcome meal.

There is one reason why I am returning to Boma this trip and it's yellow an at the bottom of this plate:

IMG_0223.jpg

Yes, those are eggs. These eggs are made with goat cheese and chives, and quite possibly the best eggs I have ever tasted.

So good, that I went back for seconds:

IMG_0226-1.jpg

I was seated at 7:30 and I was out of there that morning and in time for rope drop at Animal Kingdom. I can't wait to do this one again.

Lunch that day will be ice cream (yes, ice cream) at Blizzard Beach. We intend to spend a good portion of the day lounging around on the lazy river. I can't wait for this day!

Dinner that night will be at my most anticipated ADR: California Grill. This is also in effect Sweetie's birthday dinner. Over the past few years, dinner at Cali Grill has gone on and then off of my choice list. This time, however, it is staying and I am really excited about this one!
