Making tags for autographs?

I notice a lot of ppl here mention getting autographs on tags rather than in books. I am debating which to do this year and I was wondering if someone who has chosen one or the other could explain to me why you chose doing that.

I have seem some beautful tags that would look awesome on my Scrapbook pages, but the idea of bring them and a clipboard makes me hesitate as a clipboard will not fit into my travel purse. The other problem is that I love the tags that look like actual tags verses rectangular cardstock, but I do not have a die cut machine to make them. Do you just buy the tag blanks and decorate them?

I LOVE the autgraph books with pages printed with the characters on them, but I never do anything with my autograph books and they just sit on the shelf.

Ideas anyone?

I have a feeling I am going to do both tags and pages. I was in the process of making all the tags (I have 5 people to make for) and then I found these creative disigns threads and found the wonderful disigns for autograph pages. I am going to connect my tags with a ring. Here is a picture of one of my tags. I know that did not help you make any decision. I am also a scrapbooker. Have you seen the new items at creative memories for disney. I had to download ALL of the new digital disney item.

Some scrapbook stores sell precut tags that you could decoarte yourself. Have you thought of using a chipboard album, you could put the tags in there, there are rings which you could put the tags on. You could maybe use 2 rubber bands to secure the tag for the character to sign. The chipboard is pretty solid and would be a good writting surface

Actually no I hadn't thought of the chip board album. That might be an idea to look into.

I do love the look of the modge podged clipboards, I just don't know where I'll put it.

I love the customized autograph book pages much better that tags I'd decorate, but I think I'd do more with the tags....

Decisions decisions :)

BTW, that Mickey tag is very cute!!

I actually like the Tag concept If I didnt have a book already started I think I would have gone the Tag route. I think I will do that next year. I would just use the cover and back of the chipboard album to protect your tags and act as a clipboard, that should fit on your travel purse.

Courtney, here are my tags. I am not finished with the princess' eyes. I didn't like the way looked when I used the pieces cut for them so now I need to figure out how to make them look 1/2 way presentable. I can't believ I made 5 sets of these. I think I have all of the characters that are needed. The characters that I don't have I think we will have pages for them. Any suggestions from anyone???? I still have to had a few embelishments.

Maybe I just need a cricut....hmm :)

Great job and I can't believe you are making so many sets either!!

Those are gorgeous! i love them. I was looking to do something similar because I want to use them in my scrapbooks. One weird question though, do you think it will be hard for the characters that have costumed hands to sign them? I was kind of worried because they have to sign in a small space. It seems like all the designs I like have a small area for signing.Any thoughts?

I honestly don't know. We will also have books for sigs if needed. I don't care if they sign on the little picture of them on the tag if that would help. I guess I will give the character the option. Would be great if they could sign these.
