Hi guys

I have asked this on the UK forum because I thought it might be a geographically based answer but, just in case...

I wanna make some t-shirts for the trip (adult ones). I've already got my designs but for those of you who do the same thing...how do you lot go about it?

Do you have them printed by a company? If so (hopefully online) who do you use cause I could have them sent to a USA address? I can find it for as little as £10.50 ($16) a t-shirt but the choice of colours in the next cost bracket (plain white at that price) is not great.

If not can you recommend a printer paper? I find they peel off or crack badly if it's iron on. Can anyone recommend anything?

Thank you

Let me try an answer a few of your questions. First, you might PM MrsMac and see if she has any suggestions. She's from Ireland, but has done some online ordering and stuff.

Most of us in the US purchase our shirts from Walmart, Target, Michaels or JoAnn. We tend to not pay, on average, more than $5 a piece or less for them. Most of us get iron on transfers and print them, either at home, or a Kinko's or UPS store and then iron them on ourselves. One thing that you have to consider is sometimes, when you deal with an online company they do not want to touch doing the design because of copyright issues.

The best transfer paper I've used, I bought from AmyMickey here on the boards. She can not post her link, but I can or others can, PM you the link. But, if you google her DISboard name and "transfers" it will come up. Using her transfers, we've had shirts stay looking nice for more than a year.

If you are coming to the US, it is easy to have it shipped to the hotel you will be staying at. Just tell the hotel ahead of time that you are having a package sent there. Put all the vital info on the label, ATTN to the manager and also in C/O and your name.

I hope this helps.:thumbsup2

Thank you for your help :-) Will follow up some of those suggestions. :thumbsup2

I just want to add that I buy my actual shirts from www.cheapestees.com and have had great luck with them.

I assume they would ship to the UK - but not sure of the cost?? That may negate using them -

They have great quality shirts for around $2 each (sometimes more if you need long sleeves and such)...but if you need to make a bunch of shirts, it may be worth looking into.

I buy my transfers from AmyMickey and love them. email me if you want her address. Penny:goodvibes

Hiya

As you know I'm also in the UK. I need to be doing the same thing too, so I e-mailed Amy and got a quote but now I need to decide how much paper I need as it is fairly expensive (to my budget anyway).

Have you understood the dark paper/light paper thing? It took me a while to get my head around it so make sure you know what its about before you go ahead. Shout if you need any explanation!
