Making somebody else's Disney Magic ...

for my Birthday weekend this past January I was lucky enough to recieve several gifts to my room during our stay. All of them were tied with easily 10 balloons including one that sings. Since it was a short trip and we were leaving for the airport I brought all of the balloons to the Magic Kingdom and handed them out to any child (with thier parents permission) who was wearing a Birthday Pin. It made me feel good to share my Birthday gifts with others.

You are a great MamaBear!:wizard:

I used Garden Grocer to order our food water ect and WAY over did the water. We had one unopened CASE and another 3/4 of a case. We had unopened cereal, yogurt, and the Koolaid Powder to put in drinks. I was packing to go home and a man and his daughter walked into the room next to us. I offered all the supplies and they were THRILLED.

I also always take pics for other people and we gave away Fast passes to a VERY happy family/ I had spent all day collecting them, but we did pin trading and went back to the hotel.

I do all the normal stuff, FP, and photos. The one that sticks out in my mind was I was getting a drink at HS. Behind me was a Make a Wish family. I told her we were a Make a wish family many years ago, and that our daughter was doing great. I told her to enjoy her trip and always have faith. I think she enjoyed that little ray of hope I gave her at that moment.

On our last trip to WDW I made up 4 small packages of items from our home state to give to CMs who went out of their way to make our stay magical. It included a note pad, magnet, a Virginia post card with a thank you written on it and a starbucks gift card. It was just a way to say thanks to people who probably don't get paid all that much and give them some souvenirs from our home state. It was a lot of fun to do and I got the idea here at DIS of course!!

I love this thread!

I am loving it big time; however, I do worry I am commenting too much and that people will resent my opinions. Please understand that I am just as into the magic as much as you all are and I just love all these very cool stories you all are sharing. If I am too involved, please just tell me. I promise I will stop.

We do the pictures and FP as well

The funniest was when we were there in January there was a lot of brazilian tour groups and families, we were leaving DHS and had FP for TSM, We found a family of 4, and I walked up and handed then the tickets, the mom and dad were trying to say no, while the kids who understood more english were trying to get the parents to take them, it was 3 in the afternoon and there was no way they would even get on the ride at that point without them! It was funny and they appreciated it after they realized what they were!

I will have to rememberto bring Glow sticks on the next trip, they are a cheap and easy way to make a childs (and adults) days!

It was our first day in WDW as a family and we were in the AK at the meet and greet trail area. I was heading to the bathroom when I noticed a family with a very ill looking mom. I just could tell she was not doing well at all. I stopped in my tracks and asked if I could help her (I am a RN). She explained she was not feeling well and she felt sick to her stomach. I asked her young sons to get wet towels from the bathroom and her husband to ask a CM to call for medics. She was clearly dehydrated, started to vomit and was very upset. Once the medics arrived they were able to give her the assistance she required and helped her get back to her hotel. I hope they were able to enjoy the rest of their vacation. Certainly being vomitted on was not a highlight but knowing I was able to help someone in need gave me a super good feeling.

I really like this thread! I think we should all do something to pay it forward.

We always give away any unused fast passes...

Best magic ever, that someone did for us was -- a woman gave up her seat to my daughter at the animation academy!! Made her whole trip! :thumbsup2

We gave away 12 fast passes to MK on our last trp. We were just too tired to go back out after dinner so we walked over to the bus stop and found a group headed to the park...they were soooo excited! It was fun!

Once we had about 10 of the speacial fast passees that are good on any ride at any time after our DVC tour. We did not have time to use then so we gave those away too. It was so funny...the teenage boys we gave them to were squeeling like little girls at the were waiting to get on Tower of Terror:rotfl:

I was on the College Program last semester and some of the highlight were always watching guests help each other. It is one thing for us Cast Members to do it but it is always a pleasant surprise when it comes from guests. As few of my favorites...

I was working in an ADA viewing area at Epcot one night and talking with some of the guests with me. One group had been to Disney quite a few times each year and were asking another family about their trip. It was about 45 minutes before Illuminations started and we all discovered that the family had never been on Soarin' and hadn't even heard of it despite a day in the park. The first group quickly found their fastpasses that they had earned through the DVC presentation earlier in the day and after double checking the park hours with me convinced them to head over to MK for EMH.

Another night there was a group that had been waiting patiently with two younger children for about an hour before the show started. About 10 minutes beforehand an rather large group pushed their way up to the rope and completely blocked the view of the family. Guests in the ADA areas are able to bring in 3 people with them and once in a blue moon we have space for a few extra people per person. An elderly couple who had come in much earlier in the evening and seen the whole situation quickly came over to inform me that those were their "family members."

I also have been the recipient of very generous Disney Magic. Right before Expedition Everest opened I went to Disney with several cousins, my sibling, and what some might call one crazy aunt (7 kids, 6 of which were teenagers and only one adult, lol). The 6 of us would often go off during the day to ride the larger rides that the youngest was terrified of. We went at the end of January and were quite bummed that the coaster wasn't going to open for a few months but right before we met up with our aunt we noticed that the ride was running. As we were walking out of Bug's Life my sister called to change out meeting time and someone must have overheard because as we got out of the crowed my 12 year old sister suddenly had a hand full of 6 fastpasses that were good for right then. Apparently as she explained our plan on the phone, another guests had overheard her and handed them to her as she walked by. We never even got a chance to thank them and none of us even saw it happen but when we saw the 4 hour line we were ecstatic!

You don't sound at all like a frosty mom to me. You sound like a caring person who takes responsibility. Nice. You know, on our first trip two years ago, I had underestimated the heat and while crossing the walking into the line for Soarin, I got so dizzy I had to sit down. One of the other guests, just some random guy walking by stopped and asked about me, reported the problem to a nearby CM, and like five minutes later I was on my way to the care station. All was well and I was on my way with a Mickey water-spritzer thingamajig an hour later.:thumbsup2

It's people like you who care who make Dis so magical.

I have always wanted to do this! Hopefully someday I will have the means to make it happen. In the meantime, I will buy a balloon or two and do it on a much smaller scale!

I love this idea :thumbsup2 I know I've many times seen kids who want a balloon, but it's just too expensive. I don't have any children of my own (just nieces and nephews to spoil!), but I would love to be able to spread this little bit of magic. I'm going to work on setting aside a little extra here and there for my upcoming October trip and give this a go. Sometimes people are a little leary about taking things from strangers, but hopefully they will. Otherwise I might end up with a lot of balloons!

I Love reading these...

Here is one from my younger days... My mom used to always get us two rolls of quarters for use in the hotel game room, do to my dad's strategy of up early then back to hotel after lunch (never saw a 3pm parade) and then back to parks after dinner, we had lots of hotel time....

One year i lost a roll of my quarters, or so i thought, and later found it on the last day.... i found a random kid, about my age and gave him my roll of quarters, and also told him where to find some free arcade games over in the activity building at our resort.. I am sure i made his vacation a little more :wizard:magical:wizard:... the best way a middle schooler can! :lmao:

I LOVE this thread!!!:yay:

Subscribing, and will be keeping all these things in mind on my next trip in Oct.

It's nice to see that so many other people "buy into" all WDW magic and make an effort to add a little of their own.

No way, keep it going!!:thumbsup2

First off - great idea for a thread :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Last year on our last day we had a few (40) snack credits to use :lmao:. So we hit the candy/treat section at the shop in the Poly.
When we came out there was a family of four who had just gotten to WDW and we asked the parents if the two kiddos would like some treats.
They said yes and we loaded the kids up. I still remember the little boys eyes got about as big as one of the lollipops he got - it was great :banana:

My DS also got in on the magic at DHS during the afternoon parade. The cm were throwing foam balls into the crowd and there were 2 little girls who kept trying to catch one but just couldn't. My DS caught 2 balls and gave them both to the little girls - he made his momma proud

BTW - love your comments and my parents met at ECU (I was born in Greenville) and I grow up in MD, at this point 'Its a small world after all....' is running thru my head :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

when you go to give out fass passes and the people look at you like your crazy.this has happend to us several times.
some people are not use to random acks of kindness.

Great thread.

We always invite young kids in front of us at parades. Yes - the families show up 5 minutes before the start, but we can see over them. Parents still have to stand behind, but that is never an issue.

I am a trash picker. I remember the day when you never saw trash at WDW. I believe people litter more than in the past, but I always hope it will look perfect for the people behind me on their first trip. My wife always laughs, but now she is getting into the spirit.

We always use the dining points we have left (snack, counter or table) to pay for someones meal or snack on our last day! We don't tell them we are doing it if it is a table, we just ask our server who has a table with the points we have left and tell him/her to use ours to pay for their meal. If we have snacks left, we will use them on the people behind us, same with the counters!
