I have read and read on requesting sections. I still am not sure I can make sense of it. :confused3

We have a ressie for July 1 -10. Would it be worth a shot to call and request a section? We didn't when we made the ressie. I don't know if it will mater much but we won't check in until around 11:00 on July 1st. Or do we gamble and see what we get without a request.:confused3

NONE THE LESS NO MATTER WHAT ROOM WE GET WE WILL BE LOVING OUR TRIP!

We could be sleeping on the lawn for all we care. We just want to be there!:rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

22 Days until WDW and counting.:hourglass
Losing sleep thinking of our trip!:cloud9:

From all I've read you might stand as good of a chance just requesting when you get there since you're getting in rather early, but then it is a busy time of year (not sure without looking at a calendar wht day of the week it is, and that could affect things too). I think the general concensus is that nobody knows whether room requests really do any good or not.

FWIW, last year we checked into BWV on a Tuesday night rather late and got a room right near the lobby (no long walk) with a really nice pool view. We hadn't put in any request at all there. Then on Wednesday around noon we checked into SSR. We had requested a DTD view, and they started to put us in a room in the Springs section, so we asked if there was anything available in Congress Park and they said nothing was ready yet, but if we wanted to wait awhile we could have one there with a DTD view. We said sure, so we just wandered around the resort for a little while and a room with a lovely DTD view was ready for us within an hour. Anyhow, I think it's all in the luck of the draw and how flexible you're willing to be.

I could be wrong, but I thought member Services does room assignments like 3 days before check-in. It wouldn't hurt to add a section request to your ressie, but there's no guarantee you'll get it.

Still I've found SSR Front Desk staff are pretty accommodating. As long as you're not in a rush to get into the room, they'll have more options for you.

Have fun!

P.S. I don't think you could be heartbroken in any section of the resort. They're all very nice and something a little different to offer.

You can make the request when you get there if you are checking in early. However it will probably mean you have to wait to get into the room. If you want a room right away, you are best off not making requests.

I can't imagine that any of the sections are bad unless you really really want to be near Artists Palate or the main pool, in which case I'd ask for the Springs or the Grandstand. You'd have to be in Congress Park for the DTD view...and obviously in a building that faces DTD.

Other than that you're okay anywhere. The bus system seems to work pretty well so far.
