Making Ressies on-line?

Ok, it hasn't been that long since I was last there with dining plan. 04/08, but now that I am thinking of my next visit-I am seeing threads referring to making reservations on line-how's this work?

you will see a box that says "book a reservation" under a restaurant if they support the online ADR system.
