Making reservations

We are staying at ASMU and wondered how far in advance I can make booking for Fantasmic and chef mickeys. We don't want to plan other meals, but do you think that in August I should look at planning all of our meals because of the crowds?

Dining reservations can now be made 180 days in advance. For Disney resort guests it's an additional 10 day window so it's really 190 days.
I understand from mid-August on the crowd levels diminish as schools in some areas of the U.S. are opening. Before that it's the normal summer crunch. When we were there last June we saw many people turned away from restaurants because they did not have reservations. You might want to make your reservations as soon as you can.
