Making online ADRs are still a problem

Has anyone that called in have any issues with 'Ohana for dinner? I have it early in our trip and I have a feeling its going to need to be bumped to the end because so many people seem to be having issues with dinner reservations. We'll have an almost 1 year so dinner has to be early for us which I know is going to cause issues.

I had a weird experience trying to make my 'Ohana dinner ADR. When I called the dining line, the CM said she was getting an error for 'Ohana dinner and Boma breakfast that said they hadn't been loaded into the system yet. I'd read threads on the dining boards about Le Cellier and Cape May being loaded late and people having to wait to make their ADRs for those restaurants. But I hadn't heard a word about 'Ohana. It was weird but we finished making my other ADRs and then I hung up. I decided to check the online site for 'Ohana on my arrival day and sure enough, I had my pick of dinner times. So I called the dining line back and got a CM who didn't know what the other CM was talking about, she had booked several 'Ohana dinners the past few days. Soon enough she had found me the exact time I wanted (and my Boma breakfasts to boot).

Moral of the story, don't give up easily. If things don't work the first time, keep calling back until you get what you want.

A couple of weeks ago I had to call for my ADRs and then I had to wait over an hour on hold:mad:

But once I got through, I had no problem getting a 5:15pm dinner for 7 people at Ohanas on our 2nd day.:thumbsup2

Good luck!

Thank you, guys! Your stories give me hope! Its the first one on my list to book when I get through after holding for a CM.

Quick dumb question, I am renting points. I have the reservation #. I know there will be a problem going 180+10 online. So when I call WDW Dining, will I have a problem with 180+10 since I am a renter? Or will I be 'treated' the same because I have my reservation #?

I would like to know this too.....

Also, would it work if I booked a room through the WDW website for my dates, book my ADR's, then cancel my ressie with WDW?

I just put my reservation number in and it gives me a reminder of the date I can book online. So, is that date not right? Will it not work online on that date?

The date is right, mine gives me a date too. As to whether at 180 it works, remains to be seen.

That is one of the problems. We can all enter our reservations online and it pulls up just fine. Actually all I do is log on and click my reservations and it shows me all of my room reservations so all is good there, BUT, when you go to use the online dining, it just won't recognize your room reservation. We all see it, we know it's there, but you can re-enter it over and over and it just won't let you in. THis is what makes it so frustrating. The computer knows we have a room reservation, it just won't link the 2 together when you try to book outside the 180. Monday is my day (again) so this is the second trip that I've had to deal with this. I was actually caught up in the change in mid-October. I was booking my reservations just fine, but because my trip was 23 days long I could only do 10 days out, but then Oct. 26th came along and they changed the system and added the cc guarantee no show feature and after that I could no longer get my reservation to link up with the 180+ feature of the online dining system. I was actually in WDW during this so had to call and finish making my ADR while there. I used the room phone. Now it's SIX months later and it's still not working. So we all sit and wait for 1 hour while folks holding non-DVC reservations can book and use this feature and we have to deal with the phones. It's just not right. I've mentioned this to MS several times, but nothing changes. I wish everyone luck, but I follow this closely and keep hoping someone will be successful, but so far, no one has gotten to use the +10 if they are holding DVC reservations. Of course, I'll try again on Monday morning.

So when 180+10 ADR morning rolls around, is it better to call MS or Disney Dining?

Okay, I haven't been to WDW since 2010 so I'm just checking back in & trying to catch up.

So the problem with DVC online dining reservations is the dining system recognizes your reservation number at the 180 day mark, for just that day and not the +10? Or it doesn't recognize at all so you can't make any dining reservations on line with your DVC reservation number?

Also, if you then have to call in your dining reservations, do you call WDW dining or DVC member services?

Thanks!

If you used your non-DVC reservation number to book. But I wouldn't cancel until after you are 180 days out from all the days of your trip.

That seems like a lot of work though to just be able to make reservations an hour early (especially when no one has really said they had issues getting what they want after waiting the hour).

No problems when it comes to being a renter. My reservation was actually one I had rented before becoming an owner myself and I had no problems calling in and giving them my confirmation number.

Disney Dining opens at 7 a.m., MS opens at 9. I'd go with DD just to get a jump on things.

The Online Dining System does not recognize DVC reservation #s at all. Therefore, on your 180 day mark, you can book ADRs for just that 180th day (i.e. your arrival day). This is because ANYONE can book ADRs at 180 days, not just Resort guests.

The issue is with +10. In order to book an ADR beyond 180 days, you must be a Resort guest and the Dining System requires a Resort Reservation #. Once you select a date beyond 180 days, a pop-up window will appear, asking for your Resort Reservation #.....you type it in.....and TaDa!.....you will receive an Error Message stating that the System does not recognize it.:headache:

Thankfully, you can call the Disney Dining phone line and they are able to book your ADRs. Disney Dining opens at 7am Eastern.:thumbsup2

Sadly, this is the exact same message that they sent me at the beginning of February when i contacted member services with the same problem.

I find it very it very hard to understand why it is taking so long to resolve this issue.

:furious:The system is still messed up....Tried online and there was apparantly "no record" of my resort ressie, even using the link from DVC site. Long story short, I wound up calling CRO (wasn't waiting for MS to open) and just barely got 2 of the ressies we wanted as I wasted entirely too much time online. This was yesterday and today. For the amount of time and money we spend at the World each year, one would think that making dining ressies should not be this difficult!

I am so glad I checked in today! We haven't been to WDW since 2009 and I'm getting ready to make our ADR on Friday morning. I would have been crazed trying to get our dining plans made while getting the kids out the door for school! :crazy2: At least now I'll be prepared! Thanks to all of you for the updates! Love the DISboards! :lovestruc

Thanks for posting this. I was coming here to ask this same question. I tried yesterday online for 180+10 and it would not recognize our confirmation number.

Add me to the list. It's six months of this not working. I couldn't use it late October for my May trip, and now I can't use it for my October trip. At least I knew it wasn't going to work, but did try this morning since today is my 180 day. I will be sending an email to them, mostly because it shouldn't take 6 months to get this feature corrected. I hope others do the same. Maybe in July when I make my January ADRs it might be working! but doubt it.

I agree - EVERYONE should send an email...."encouraging" them to get this fixed!!!;)
